Would you buy a CITI Golf? MK1 revamp in South Africa
MASantos, our old hot rods circulate because they passed safety standards as new vehicles - that is, they met the standards of the 60s and 70s, and are not re-tested with each change in safety regulations. Now, certainly without significant changes to the design of the chassis, I don't think...- plus_c

iphone unlockers needed
Sorry dude, but you're out of luck. Unlocking software is not going to help you. AT&T's network (and consequently your iPhone) runs on the GSM standard, Verizon is CDMA. Your best bet is to switch to AT&T to use the iPhone, or to sell the iPhone.- plus_c

Recommend me a sports car
...race tires). 6500$... there may even be some articles on it in PDF form if you look around at the project garage on there. Hope this helps... **BRENT** I'd forgotten all about the Impreza 2.5RS! Yeah, that'd be a great choice as well. I'll echo the suggestion of autocrossing...- plus_c

Recommend me a sports car
Good choices, I think. A couple of suggestions: 1. You won't find a WRX within your budget. They're just too new (oldest model is something like a 2003), it won't happen. 2. I would be very very careful with that modded Prelude. Because of the extensive work that he's done (i.e. cams...- plus_c

Recommend me a sports car
I wouldn't be recommending a swapped anything for the OP for a couple reasons - for one, reliability will be a complete unknown as you have no idea of the engine's history pre-swap (not to mention the inevitable swap gremlins and shortcuts taken during the swap...), and secondly, forget about...- plus_c

Recommend me a sports car
I owned an old Audi quattro-equipped car once. It was a great car - but heaven help you if you have to make major repairs! And when we're talking the vintage the car would be to fit in the OP's price range, boy are we talking about major repairs...- plus_c

Wow, hell hath no fury... As much as I'd love a Lambo at that price, I wouldn't be able to afford the oil changes, let alone a more major repair...- plus_c

Recommend me a sports car
The fact that you live in Maine complicates things a little bit - under other circumstances, the Miata would be a natural choice, but an RWD soft-top convertible in the wintertime in Maine would not be so great. I'd be looking at simpler sporty cars with good aftermarket support and cheap parts...- plus_c

88 awd camry or 92 acura legend
When you're talking about used cars at that age, maintenance history takes much more importance than initial reliability. Take the car that has the more complete maintenance record. Also, I'm thinking it might be cheaper just to have the exhaust fixed on your current car...- plus_c

Best movie nobody else has ever seen...
Wow, based on the responses in this thread about Time and Tide, I guess that one wasn't as much under the radar as I originally thought. Whoever mentioned Oldboy is right - what a disturbing movie...but despite the disturbing plot (or maybe because of it?) it was a gripping movie...- plus_c

So Indy 500 is on the TV...have a Question
You're right, budget doesn't take driver skill entirely out of the equation - but I do feel that a more level playing field helps keep things much more interesting. Schumacher is one of the greatest drivers of all time, but might there have been more people who could have given him a run for his...- plus_c

So Indy 500 is on the TV...have a Question
Well, when one is averaging 220+mph around an oval, you do want a little bit of cornering stability... Remember that the IRL schedule is predominantly oval-track races, while F1 doesn't have any ovals at all. Also just wanted to point out that there aren't designs of chassis, but one chassis...- plus_c

Anyone enjoy the occasional 'traffic light grand prix'?
Sometimes I'll pull away from a light faster than I know I should. But I don't street race - I save that for the track. Besides, autocross is much more fun and rewarding.- plus_c
