Head-Fi Boston Meet?
I'm excited! We should start another thread with the specific info once we have it and maintain an inventory table so people can see what's coming. I'm more than happy to do it (I'll try to snag post #2 if you PM me after it's made. )- Rynsin

No. I highly doubt there is a closed headphone that exists that will match the PMx2s. That being said, I have the Paradox Slants and the Aeon's, and they're the best I've heard in closed-headphone-land for a while now. I use them at my desk over IEMs when I can. The good set of IEMs is solid...- Rynsin

A venue at an audio shop sounds ideal to me. I think Saturday and Sunday work equally well for me, slight preference for Sunday.- Rynsin

I'd also be willing to drive up to the North Shore. I can also likely get some space at Brandeis University, if people are willing to come out to Waltham.- Rynsin

New England (Mass, NH, Maine, etc) Winter Meet - 1-28
I won't be at CanJam, and both of those dates work for me. We could also create a poll and choose a date more directly, although fuzzy-RSVP's for these things are kind of inevitable. A week and a half of notice is enough for me, but we should probably pick a date soon. @ninjapirate9901...- Rynsin

Audio Zenith PMx2 Impressions page
I've A/B'd the PMx2 against the LCD-3, and I think the PMx2s are the clear winner. The first time I heard the LCD-3 I thought it was amazing -- I'd never heard that level of detail before. But putting them side-by-side with the PMx2, it is very clear the LCD-3s are more like a very detailed...- Rynsin

In terms of "what to upgrade first" from the point of view of listening to music, I think most people will agree that generally the amp will have a bigger impact on the sound then the DAC. Standard rule of thumb is: the farther away it is from your ear, the less impact it'll have...- Rynsin

I had the Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1, although I also highly recommend the Cambridge Audio DacMagic for a USB-powered DAC/amp. :) Hope to see you around at future meets!- Rynsin

Glad you liked the PMx2s. I was really curious to see what the other folks at the Boston meet would think of them. I can't recommend them enough, especially over phones like the HD800 and LCD-X... I've also attempted (and failed) to properly photograph the shiny metal spacer (it sort of looks...- Rynsin

Boston Mini-Meet Impressions
Many thanks to @Ishcabible for opening up his place to us. As always, I enjoyed listening to awesome gear and making fun of @JoshMo for liking tubes. HD800s -- now that I've heard an HD800 that is too warm, I can say I've heard it all. I was amazed by how different all three... -

CEntrance has gone radio-silent about my DACmini, so I'll probably bring my Maverick TubeMagic or my AGD NFB as a DAC with my Tisbury Audio CA1. I'll bring the PMx2s, and the LFF Enigmas, Paradox Slants, and Paradox Slants Starving student... maybe my HE-400s if they fit in the bag.- Rynsin
