ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship
Atrium is a great choice!! When I had asked Zach directly about that, he said the type of wood plays less of an influence on the sound for open backs really. Unless the wood is really soft, the variation in sound is going to be minimal, according to him. Where it plays more of a factor is for...- Aetherhole

Arctic Cables Discussion Thread
I love the look of their silver cables! I just got the Euphoria last week and it’s beautiful. Bright silver look to them is stunning. Also, it’s a beefy cable! The Opera I had (now sold) was thin comparatively. Even compared to the Talos, which is a thicker cable, the Euphoria is a little...- Aetherhole

I am selling my Arctic Cables Opera v2. The reason for the sale is that I just upgraded to the Arctic Cables Euphoria, so I’d like this to see this go to a good home. This has Furutech connectors. 3.5 connectors for Hifiman and has a 4-pin Balanced XLR amp termination. The cable length is 5...- Aetherhole

Canpur Audio - Impressions and Discussion Thread
Thanks for that! Yeah, the vent sits right in a place where i can rotate it into place to be mostly covered on the CP622B, but I just didn’t know if that was the intended purpose or not. Good to have some additional context, for sure. Raven’s are chunky!!- Aetherhole

HiFiMan Susvara
It’s highly subjective, but I would say yes. That’s with a big caveat, though. The Susvara can be run on lower tier electronics to loud volumes, but loud is only one part of the equation. The Susvara is very revealing of source chain changes and the scalability is nearly limitless. And...- Aetherhole

I really need to spend more time with the Meze lineup. I heard the Elite last canjam and enjoyed it for the brief time they were on my head. Hard to make a solid judgment while listening on the showroom floor, though. Really want to hear the Empyrean II and the Elite again to compare them...- Aetherhole

Canpur Audio - Impressions and Discussion Thread
Question for you experienced Canpur or CP622B folks— there’s a vent on the back (upper portion) of the IEM, is this supposed to be open or covered by your ear? Does this have to do with the BCD driver and should the vent be “venting” at/touching your ear? Or is it supposed to be kept open to...- Aetherhole

Arctic Cables Discussion Thread
The Opera is fantastic with the Susvara. I have the Talos v2 and got the Opera. I ended up only using the Opera and then getting the Talos reterminated for the Atrium. I’ll be getting the Euphoria soon (not sure exactly when, but soon), so I’ll be able to compare that to the Opera.- Aetherhole

You might also be able to Op-Amp roll with the Burson to help alleviate the treble sensitivity. Just another possible and relatively cheap solution.- Aetherhole

HiFiMan Susvara
Susvara is pretty neutral, so there are certainly other HP that are even sharper up top. That being said, chain dependency can definitely help. A tube amp certainly can help. I’m not familiar with your Merason DAC, but DAC’s certainly can also reduce the bite from the treble. EQ even could...- Aetherhole

To be fair, every reviewer is not created equal. I like Sandu’s reviews overall. Don’t always agree, but he is pretty thoughtful and thorough. There certainly are other reviewers who don’t do a great job, but still get paid for it, too. I don’t put a ton of stock into many reviewers, but...- Aetherhole

Holo Audio May DAC Speculation
That’s so great to hear about the Envy. I know it’s a real contender, but being transformed because of the May, that’s awesome! I agree, the WA23 sounds great with practically everything that I’ve connected to it, both up-chain and down-chain. I really, really enjoy the May with the WA23, too!- Aetherhole
