It’s a ODM development kit. Just like a development PS5 you pay more for features that are relevant for development and not necessarily regular consumer use.

We only have a limited capacity to listen to earphones and if you’re constantly trying new stuff I could see why some sets don’t get much use.

Honestly the only time I really use IEMs is in a cafe/airplane/desk where I can really sit down and enjoy them. I see it as a safety issue to use headphones in public like that ( traffic, walking, hiking, etc). Besides why not enjoy the area?

Here’s the problem with that mindset…what’s the value of a dollar? What’s your value of a dollar? Also someone may value those technicalities and shortcomings more than others. So there’s more gained by keeping it neutral and simply highlighting the differences in comparisons.

If you’re thinking about Chi-fi for warranty it’s far easier to just buy a new one. You’ll likely have to send it back to the manufacturer…at your own expense which can be as much as what the IEM is worth.

I like Zepp. They have a lot there , (especially cables!) and you can enjoy some coffee while you’re there. The mall it’s located in has several electronics stores if you need stuff serviced. Also Zepp is on the 3rd floor IIRC.

I’d look into the new Eletech tips. Right now it’s for the AirPods Pro, but there’s supposed to be a TWS based version coming out soon too. It was previewed in Singapore.

If an IEM responds well to EQ that’s the way to go. Not everything responds well however.
