    Snorry Planar Magnetic Headphones

Thank you for the clarification. I really appreciate your time. I did totally forget about the effects of the political climate on things especially logistics and forex.

    Snorry Planar Magnetic Headphones

Thank you for the review. I've not had the opportunity to try any Snorry headphones yet but your experience with the Trion somewhat mirrors my experience with the Heddphone which is quite transparent to the chain you feed it. However, I'm curious at the price you purchased the Trion as your...

Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC (and headphone amp)

It's good but you can do better with a discrete amp. For it's price point, that's one of the major bottleneck of the system as a whole, IMHO

    McChanson amps appreciation thread

On a separate note, I do miss the sound of the Lundahl from my ECP-DSHA 3F

Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC (and headphone amp)

That's great to hear (pun intended). I do listen to low-mid volume and the biggest differences (in a subtle way) when comparing the headphones from direct to a discrete amp are the staging and dynamics. Some music passages may sound "congested" and not as "lively", in my own subjective opinion.

Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC (and headphone amp)

To me, the headphone out from the Tambaqui is similar to the headphone out from the RME ADI-2, in that both headphone outputs are adequate for driving headphones BUT they both do not do justice to the DAC section itself.

    Pathos Inpol Ear Headphone Amplifier

So if the T3 follows the T2 output, then when using XLR, that's why you get distortion on the Pathos. If you still own the Pathos, you can try RCA and see if the distortion happens still on the same tracks.

    Pathos Inpol Ear Headphone Amplifier

Out of curiosity, what was your source and would you happen to know how hot their output was? Because I had this happen to me when I got my Holo Audio May and was wondering why this was happening. Turned out that the May's XLR output was 5.98V which is higher than the 4V supported by the Pathos

    Spirit Torino Valkyria

Speaking of the "lesser" models, I own the Twin Pulse Ragnarr and I find that it's better than the D8000 and HE1000SE for some genres that I listen to. Quite underrated

    Pathos Inpol Ear Headphone Amplifier

Nice, I use the exact same power cord as well and I always worry about the weight and stress on the connector. I pad it up with some extra isolation feet I have.

High End Cables Thread (digital, analog, power)

The filter outputs are intriguing. Would definitely love to hear your thoughts on this.

High End Cables Thread (digital, analog, power)

Yeah, it looks HUGE but it's the most routable power cable I own. Compared to the DPS4.1, the InAkustik feels like a difference between a Yoga Master vs Mr Universe in terms of flexibility

Another cable maker I'd recommend besides Arctic (whom are awesome since their eBay days) is Forza Audio Works.

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

I used to own the HE-1000SE (HEK) and still own the HE-6SE (HE6). While I had them both, here are my findings in no particular order; HEK was more versatile and easier to drive HEK was slightly more comfortable because of the shape HE6 slammed harder when driven properly HE6 was more intimate...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

In my own experience, the silver being brighter is somewhat true to a certain gauge (cable thickness). Once you go above a certain gauge thickness, the pure silver cable actually provides the benefits of both silver (clarity, airiness) and copper (body).

High End Cables Thread (digital, analog, power)

I'm running their power cable 2404 using Furutech Rhodium IEC and Furutech Rhodium NCF UK plug to my DAC. Previously I was using the Furutech DPS4.1 with the same connectors and the InAkustik is so much better with routing lol Sound wise, on the DAC it didn't make much of a difference but I...

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

For me, the basis of upgrade for the DAC was the pursuit of a more realistic reproduction of strings and piano. Depending on your budget, you might consider going the R2R type or discrete DAC route.

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

At the time I got the LCD-5, I was using the Holo Audio May, then onto the Mola Mola Tambaqui. Later I upgraded to the Soulution 560 and now I'm on the Aries Cerat Helene.

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

It's a big step up in the power delivery and control. The Aurium is well regarded in those areas for its price point but the InPol just does it better. Of course diminishing returns kicks in and at that point, it's almost impossible to rate it by value but more towards what you're comfortable...

    Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview

I'm pairing it with the bigger brother, the InPol Ear and it sounds fantastic on it. I used to own the Aurium and it's a great little amp too. At the time of owning the Aurium, I also bought the SPL Phonitor X which is also a really transparent amp. I preferred it to the Aurium because of the...

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

I second the sentiment on pure tube amps. And I do find the claim that OTL's and planars to not synergize well to be untrue, at least in my own journey. My best value amplifier which sounds incredibly well with the HEK-SE is the La Figaro 339 with upgraded tubes; TungSol 5998. The low end is...

    HiFiMan Susvara

To me, if you're a vocal/mids preference type listener, the Susvara is one of the best in terms of sublime, liquid mids and vocals that's euphoric to listen to. It is phenomenal in that regard. Paired with the May DAC and the right amplifier, and you'll be listening to hours on end which is...
