What samplerate is most popular here?
44100hz or 48000hz? Just to make it clear,88200,176400,352800 are all multiples of 44100hz,so if you have music in this samplerate ( or its multiples ) you vote 44100.Same thing for 48000hz,96000,192000,384000,768000,you vote 48000.DSD is also split into two groups.DSD files that are multiples...- goobicii

while HD800 have amazing impulse response, the mids and high are low distortion and soundstage is epic, the headphone freqency response is very far from neutral,it have high bass bump at 100hz and starts rolling off from there, bellow 50hz you can still hear it but its strongly rolled off,compared...- goobicii

Whats the best $1000 range cans with neutral to bright sound?
Stax lambdas have flattest freqency response of any headphone, they tend to have upper mids bump, bass gets boomy if you loose perfect seal by what you described they are perfect for you http://www.pricejapan.com/front/e_good_info.php?code=1612&category=10- goobicii

The Official Sony MDR-Z1R Flagship Headphone Thread (Live From IFA 2016)
the problem most of the time isnt so much in the driver, but in all the other things around driver, you could make HD800 drivers sound like muffled veiled dark headphone with horrible transient response if you put it in badly designed body and pads also the people who tune the freqency...- goobicii
