Battle of IEMs | 1More Quad Driver | Moondrop Aria | Etymotic ER2XR/SE [Max. 150€]
Sorry for answering late.🙇♂️ The 1-5 kHz is the frequency range that is the most sensitive for the human ear and the big dips around 7 and 12 kHz could be noticeable too.- zest

Depending how much you love the sound with stock tips, I had a bit of harshness in the highs, CP145 were the best for me until I found some old noname bi-flange tips in my tips box, a bit less comfortable, but the harshness is reduced without changing much of the sound signature. If you prefer...- zest

Battle of IEMs | 1More Quad Driver | Moondrop Aria | Etymotic ER2XR/SE [Max. 150€]
I'm not into warm signature, not sure how I can help. Aria have a Harman signature, I guess a V-shape, warm signature could answer your needs (less linear and warmer). According to the graphs, the ER3XR compared to the ER2XR have less sub-bass, more mid-bass, less upper-mids and less treble...- zest

Battle of IEMs | 1More Quad Driver | Moondrop Aria | Etymotic ER2XR/SE [Max. 150€]
Apart being neutral with some sub-bass, ER2XR are great for detail retrieval and tonality, what's dragging the sound quality down is a flat soundstage depth. Even with tracks produced to sound spacious, they will sound 2D because of this lack of depth. They're not straight neutral, but will give...- zest

If you think the Aria are linear and cold, don't buy the Etymotic, they're colder and more "boring".- zest

I think they're equal in detail, but the Starfield are thinner, GD3A have more meat. Starfield are better in tonality, because GD3A have a bit of harshness in the highs. They're also different in signature, V shaped for GD3A, Harman for Starfield.- zest

Thanks a lot for the comparison with GD5, looks like GD5 would be the answer and GD3A for fun. I've been out of this hobby for a few years, I need to refill my stock of ear tips :relaxed:. With Spinfit CP100 it was not enough, CP240 were too warm, it's not bad with some old Sony Hybrid, but...- zest

I'll wait for more feedback concerning Kato. I hope I'm wrong, but to me the graph vs. Starfield don't show significant changes, I hope it brings more than a slight reduction of vocal presence, a slight increase of highs and a nozzle that bring more air compared to the other.- zest

Hello TonyTex, I saw in your video comparison between GD3A and GD5 you were not using the stock tips with GD3A. Is it because you noticed, as I did, some harshness sometimes in the highs or for comfort/fit ? It was noticeable for me especially with crash of cymbals, they sounded unnatural, I had...- zest

Problem with the GD3A is some harshness in the highs, I guess it's why on the video you can see the (wide bore) stock tips are used on the GD5, not on the GD3A. To tame the highs a bit, you have to use some tips with narrower bore, that's what I did with with mine, they sound pretty good now...- zest

I'm in the same boat concerning bass, bass is soft with any genre I listen to. I can't expect it to be as tight and fast as BA, but I know DD can do better than this, there's no punch/impact when needed.- zest

Yes, I mean Fiio X1, to me, the biggest gap between them is soundstage and accuracy (X1 sound is colored), Xduoo X3 is slightly better in details and separation, it's not night and day. I don't think warm IEMs like Trident and Dulcimer would be the best pair for X1, it sound better with more...- zest

Yes, a bit, separation/sense of space is not so different between them, X3 sound more flat as X1 feels more warm and energetic. X1 has a fuller sound with bass and mids, X3 has better bass speed and tightness when needed and better soundstage. To me, it's more a question of taste, because both...- zest

They're good but not great unless you're basshead, they're too unbalanced, if you're coming from bassy or warm&sweet earphones, the gap in bass quantity is not too much, if you're more into balanced or worse, bright signature, Easy UEs are not for you.
