The discovery thread!
Just in: KZ AE01 Bluetooth earhooks. Tried them with PR3, AS10 Pro and TRN ST7. They are power limited so need an efficient IEM. ST7 sounded the best of the three. Only a short test as the power ran out. On charge now and will try some more IEMs. Sound was decent, nice and clear with clean bass...- Nimweth

Review by 'Nimweth' on item 'Westone Audio MACH 60'
I was contacted by John Creigan from Jackrabbit Media and invited to review the Westone MACH 60 IEM. Westone is a brand best known for its IEMs designed for stage musicians. Currently its inventory includes the AM Pro X, Pro X and MACH ranges. The MACH range itself has two categories, Premium...- Nimweth

After reading about the use of an impedance adaptor with the KZ AS10 Pro, I tried mine with a 30 ohm adaptor and changed the cable to a Faaeal Hibiscus. Improvements all round in tonality, stage and bass. In this configuration the AS10 Pro is in my top three for 2024!- Nimweth

An important factor in timbre reproduction is the ability of the transducer to handle harmonics well. The individual spread of harmonics defines the character of an instrument. A very extended treble helps because of the way harmonic information modulates other frequencies. Even if we can only...- Nimweth

I have quite a few all BA sets, if you are looking for a natural timbre then I can recommend Westone. I have the MACH 60 and 70, and the AM Pro X10 and AM Pro X30. They all have a very nice tonality, if you are looking for a neutral profile, the Pro X30 would be perfect. If you like more bass...- Nimweth

During a recent spate of reviews of all BA designs, I selected the TRN X7 as one of the comparisons. I attached the KBEAR Limpid Pro cable and I was surprised to hear how good they sound. Excellent timbre and bass performance, here is a perfect example:- Nimweth

I missed out on the Bridge, had it in the basket and it sold out. I was hoping it sounded like the MT300 and BQEYZ Summer which have similar configuration.- Nimweth

After spending the last two weeks reviewing other IEMs, I finally had some decent ear time with the WG T-one. What a lovely analogue-sounding IEM this is. It has a nice vinyl-like woody bass, smooth mids and plenty of presence up top. Staging is very good also. Very musical and should be scooped...- Nimweth

Ha ha, that's amazing, here is an extract from my review of the KBEAR Believe: "The immediate impression was “natural and effortless”. The timbre was authentic and the overall profile was neutral with a gentle U shape. The bass was nicely judged and well-textured with the focus between the sub-...- Nimweth
