Spent the evening listening to Jazz via Roon from WDCB in Chicago. Tremendous evening of great jazz! Roon=> Yggy+GS2 => ZMF Aegis => DT800 (600ohm) - They never sounded as good as they are on the Aegis

I was fooled also. But that being said, they infer that they aren't the manufacturer when they say that their tolerances are so high that they refuse quite a few tubes as not meeting their standards. Again, seems like marketing exaggeration's.

I think I agree with your assumption about sounding the same as the 325x (also as stated on the website) and the gold would simply be more scarce on the secondary market.

I like mine quite a bit. I'm sure that you will like them as well. They have their own unique sound within the Grado lineup. The only question I believe you'll have is whether or not they add enough value to your current line-up or not. I'm sure that you'll let us know! :beyersmile:

this album is getting a lot of love here on Head-fi. I've tried at least 3 times to listen to this. Want to love it (like it even), but just can't do it. I guess it's not my thing. Thanks for the recommendation though.
