My favorite of Joe Bonamassa's concert videos is 2014's "Muddy Wolf at Red Rocks". "Live at the Greek Theatre" is also excellent.- Roy G. Biv

As @Les Strat mentioned, Cardinal Black is a band to watch. Their guitarist, Chris Buck, is phenomenal. I’ve been watching his YT channel “Friday Fretworks” and am always impressed.- Roy G. Biv

HA! I also learned to drive in a 1972 F250. Dad rolled it into some kind of pit way above the timberline above Breckenridge, CO. He replaced the bed and drove it for years afterwards. The "new" bed was silver, the cab was red. I learned to drive manual transmissions in a 1977 Toyota FJ40 and...- Roy G. Biv

25+ years ago I home-demo'd a Rotel pre-amp and 5 channel power amp that had a "3-channel stereo" setting that I liked very much. I ended up not buying the system because the dealer was something of an ass-hat but it was a good sounding setup. I may demo a Syn or (hopefully) the ultra-Syn that...- Roy G. Biv

Not a dumb question at all. With a USB drive connected to the NODE it can operate independently of a PC. Control would be done via a tablet/smartphone. I believe the same would be true of the Wiim Ultra and the Cambridge Audio MXN10 that @sixergixer just mentioned.- Roy G. Biv

Check out something like the Bluesound NODE. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_813NODEBK/Bluesound-NODE-Black.html. It can play files from an external HDD/SSD as well as act as an endpoint for Spotify, Qobuz etc. There are others but this is the only one I can recommend based on experience as I own...- Roy G. Biv

Makes sense. As a pilot, aviation scenes in movies can be hard to watch (looking at you, Top Gun). Probably the same for submariners, lawyers, cops, et al.- Roy G. Biv

Wait. What? I thought you despised Roon? For a second I was going to ask why you weren't using a NUC/Roon ROCK but then I remembered just how inexpensive the base Mac Mini really is. Plus, to your point, you can use other library management software options if Roon no longer suits your needs.- Roy G. Biv

Usually the Cowboys wait until much later in the season to start disappointing the fans. Probably not a good year to be a fan but at least we won’t have late season hopes to worry about. May as well pull off the band-aid early.- Roy G. Biv

So “too thick to stir, too wet to plow” would be ok? TBH it’s likely that iTunes has made improvements in that area since I’ve last used it. But still, if one is importing files from another hard drive, why should it take it upon itself to create a folder where one didn’t exist previously...- Roy G. Biv
