Symphonium Audio – The Official Thread
I liked the Anni23 for the treble. The bass butchered it. Such a shame.- DingDongMonster

IIRC, Aehta has one BC on the bass. It was quite mild. I heard the texture when I stuck it in an iBasso D16. The Aehta is highly resolving, but the BC does not buzz like some setups.- DingDongMonster

Which one do you own and not use? U18T? If it doesn't spark joy. Box it up and sell it. Let someone else enjoy it. Free up the cash. There are only that many IEMs to own before you start becoming a discerning collector. Free up the money, and play around with cables, daps, amps. Once my case...- DingDongMonster

Symphonium Audio – The Official Thread
First impression. Not reference at all. It's a western tuning. Lots of mid-bass, not crunchy or textured, warm, air and treble shy. The opposite of the Helios. Resolution is very good. What the Crimson does with 4, the U18T needs 18. Crazy. Relatively easy to drive compared to any Symphonium...- DingDongMonster

The Crimson is the best sounding reference tuning, minus the Storm of course (I have heard.) The Crimson is more musical when amped right. U12T just sounds drier, boring. Who knew that reference could be musical? In the end. I only kept the Helios and Helios SE. I love these two to bits. If you...- DingDongMonster

I had that combo. But since sold the Titan and upgraded the DCE to a D16. The Titan sounded great, but the show was stolen by the Crimson. The Crimson scaled along with the DCE. While the Titan hit a ceiling. Another way to look at it. Maybe the Titans hit max potential at a lower point.- DingDongMonster

Oh la la. The new sleeve looks nice. It's the gold standard. Not easy to make the leap. But if you do. IMHO, Godfall is the one to go with. Godfall and EOH2 are the 2 must own. Now, I just need the spare cash. LOL Some people have physical reactions. I know a guy who gets giddy listening to...- DingDongMonster

I very much doubt so. The road from R&D to polished product is too long and costly. There is so little margin. You will need to move large quantities to make anything at all. IMHO, not something boutique companies can do.- DingDongMonster

Trying to get some weekend work done. The new toys are so distracting. The next prototype is in. What is there to say? Slap it on the Aehta, the new Shanling UA6 sounds great. Every ting, tong, boom, clap, tick tick. Sounds like a thousand bucks. The Aehta already sounds like 2 thousand bucks...- DingDongMonster

No sorry. I have not tried many IEMs lately. A friend said planars need to be big to shine. I found that to be true. I have an Audeze i3. Anything smaller just doesn't cut it. It's best for headphones. From what I understand, micro planars are used in hybrids because they don't want to spend on...- DingDongMonster

I just returned the prototype cable. My time with it was short. I did have a good afternoon ABing it with IEMs and other cables. A quick and dirty description. It is open, clear and detailed. The details coming through were astounding. The stage was open. Clarity is something you don't notice...- DingDongMonster

All new good (stuff above a certain price) IEMs will have BCs. All BA only are now obsolete. ESTs are too expensive. Micro sized planars are cheap and do nothing else good. BCs will become more and more ubiquitous.- DingDongMonster

The best low priced IEM you should own... and skip the rest
New to the hobby? Just want the best low cost IEM? Spent hundreds of hours reading and watching reviews and none the wiser? Before we begin. This is not a review. I have no commercial interest in the audio hobby. I have no intention of offending anyone. If you like something I hate, so be it...- DingDongMonster

Empire Ears - Triton
I have the DC Elite. I would say best sound dongle, but my experience with dongles are limited. Let’s just say it sounds better than great. The volume knob does some usability issues that might irk some people. I have a D16 which runs circles around the DC Elite. Your 320 Max is a few levels...- DingDongMonster

Amazing, but not a realistic representation. Since most people won't splurge on such a setup. The whole point is to test if the IEM can scale along with the sources. The answer is yes.- DingDongMonster
