True! I realize it’s still years off, but the prospect of a multi-ribbon follow up to the SR-1b is pretty tantalizing.- ApertureSilence

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis
I have extremely mixed feelings about the SR1A/SR1B, but my experience with it has nonetheless convinced me that Immanis is the headphone for me. The soundstage and general speaker-like presentation of it, the pin-point imaging, and the extreme level of midrange and treble detail are all the...- ApertureSilence

HiFiMan Susvara
So I don't have the HEKSE, but I do have the pre-stealth HEKV2, and to me, that one actually has a wider soundstage than Susvara. Susvara beats it on depth and general soundstage quality, but the V2 feels pretty clearly wider to me.- ApertureSilence

I was thinking the same thing, but the potential for regret is dangerously high. I wouldn't sell my Sus unless I was 1000% sure I was replacing it with something better.- ApertureSilence

I heard the Audivina at CanJam NY '22. It did have a decently sized soundstage for a closed-back, though not Susvara or Arya-width. The tonality was a bit weird, though. Kind of hollow and congested sounding.- ApertureSilence

Good to know I should hold on to my Susvara, I guess. The real Sophie’s Choice is between whatever this ends up being and Immanis.- ApertureSilence

I for one love the Wilson remasters, especially for Jethro Tull. Giles also does a fine job, but maybe strays too far from the originals sometime. Whoever recently remastered those Red/Blue Beatles CDs should be fired into the sun, though.- ApertureSilence

RAAL 1995 headphones, Magna and Immanis
So I haven't heard the CA-1a, but I've had an SR-1a for a while and I do think it is essentially too "level" in the treble area. The positive of that is that it does feel more like a speaker response and it's very easy to EQ. I tend to apply a very, very mild treble dip to the SR-1a that...- ApertureSilence
