...DAC: Yulong Sabre D-18 (balanced) Others: Silver Dragon (balanced) $2000 budget for both amp and DAC $350 budget for each cable *I'm going to balance these cans so might as well see if a quality cable actually does make a sonic difference. *I don't actually have a budget but I...- saintyoo

Considering purchasing the Sennheiser HD598 - need advice
...to try out ortho's or trying to upgrade my source, I'd still have mine but 3 headphones were too much, especially for a college student in a small a** dorm. I currently have the AKG701's and m50's which satisfy my open and closed needs but I often miss having a mid oriented, neutral...- saintyoo

How is sound leakage from Sennheiser HD-598?
If you listen to moderate to low levels, it's not an issue unless a person is literally within 5 feet of you but i guess moderate to low is relative. Try amazon or anyplace with a good return service and just return them if they leak too much, all open headphones are going to leak about that...- saintyoo

Headphones for rap and techno and a ill amp help
If you are coming from the beats you might be disappointing by the m50's bass, especially the new whitebox'ed versions. Its definitely more controlled and better quality but lacks the large quantity of bass that a lot of new entry level people are expecting (true for most high end headphones...- saintyoo

For The Love of God...Do Not Buy Souls
So the thing with GMO's is, about 99% of the genes inserted into the plants is for a pesticide or herbicide resistance. Meaning if you spray these chemicals on normal plants they die while the GMO plants live, allowing production to go up without worrying about insects, fungus, weeds that kill...- saintyoo

For The Love of God...Do Not Buy Souls
Quote: I did a seminar on bad scientific papers/studies with fellow coworkers and the easiest papers to criticize were those against GMO's. In general anti-GMO proponents can't do science. Really the quality between organic food and GMOs is due to mass production type (commercial)...- saintyoo

Pittsburgh PA Area Meetup!
nah sorry, never dealt with the veteran's program tbh I hate this school, I wish I picked a less nerdy school, with more sports and with less asains. I was the only asain in my grade in high school and here its like... they are the majority (probably a grand total of 7 in the entire high...- saintyoo

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: lol that's exactly why (since "better" is also ambiguous in Korean and I was wondering the same thing you said) I said "really but the m50 has more" to which he replied "no it doesn't" heh he might have been trolling me though he's a goof and probably making fun of me...- saintyoo

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: Yeah (sold my m50 to buy a t50rp, I really wanted to try orthos and I thought they would be a good upgrade) m50's are in your face, fun, with a little oomph on the bass, versatile My music is split into hi-fi and just for fun music and since I sold everything but my...- saintyoo

Gym Headphones?
for me gym my IEM's don't really need to have great sound quality, as long as they don't break or fall out of my ear I'm happy there is a lot of outside noise, the radio is blasting, and I sweat a lot so even when IEM's normally give me a good fit/isolation, within 15 minutes in the gym...- saintyoo

How did you become an audiophile?
I don't think I can qualify as a real audiophile but I'm about mid-fi gear wise and really enjoy analytical listening. In early high school, I was using $30 dollar IEM's because I couldn't stand crappy ear buds. Then I got a pair of Bose in ears as a present and I actually started...- saintyoo
