Interesting machine from Luxury n Precision
...Or so the Q&A above suggests. Operating system comments: The proprietary iOS is simple. Most intuitive and reminded me of the original iPod days of old. Copying music from my MacBook to the internal 64Gb storage was painfully slow. I would love to see a faster USB 3.x implementation and...- Tanalasta

Grado Fan Club!
That's interesting about the RS1x, because for what it's worth, I'm listening to mine right now, playing some house music with a lot of bottom on it, and while I'm not getting the basshead BASS, I'm still getting that thump in the chest. But that's also what I like about it, so different etc.- ampersandyandy

...It sounds so detailed and spacious yet musical, just lovely. My personal hero is still the GH2... while not going as deep as the PS2000x it offers nicely balanced, warm bass with very engaging mids and nice sparkle up top, and all that while using it from an old iPod... Fascinating.- plakat

...today? Impressions later, but for now, this is definitely a tip-sensitive, and unfortunately for me the wide tips aren't exactly giving me good seal so Divinus Velvet for now. And second, if you want to do something similar to DMS's ipod-inside-case but you want Spotify, I suggest the Hiby M300.- Sylveon

I hear you, but while DAPs have gotten way better, dongles have gotten better too, so I think part of the question comes down to exactly what kind of experience works best for you. For a lot of people using, it makes more sense to have their phone function as the player, and then to get the best...- stephenkostas

It kinda bums me out that a lot of people use these nice DAPs into another dongle. It was more common when the iPod had the 30-pin line-out, but I feel DAPs have improved from then - so why the dang dongles :D Also bums me that we are comparing dongles to DAPs. :(- M3NTAL

I’m currently using a DC-Elite with my phone, but I’d like to get back to a DAP (haven’t had one since my iPod Touch died) and not worry about battery drain on my phone. +1 for the iBasso DC-Elite, probably one of the best dongles on the market, accidentally featuring a sound signature tailored to your very preferences: I know, not the cheapest, but here applies "you buy cheap, you buy twice". It's a no-brainer when you're looking for a literal end-game dongle...- droid23

I might just take the plunge on one of these dac dongles to use with my ipod touch? There are useless for my Sony's and my DX170, because the dang DAC disables the onboard EQ features when it's activated, so i'd haver to pick a dongle that I'm happy with the onboard sound signature. Sony Z1R....listening impressions only
Yep, totally plan to have them on my (LOL) "burn-in rig" (an old iPod touch w/ a janky battery) while not actually using them for at least the first week. I am a bit of a Sony fanboy, but have to admit the MDR-Z1R were never on my radar because I've been "back" in the full-size headphone realm...- feverfive

I picked up a couple AKG’s along my journey; Q701, K712 Pro, and I still have my pair of K612 Pro today! I sent them in to Tyll so that he could add them to his measurements database. I agree they’re pretty fantastic. They scale up really well with better gear upstream too… when I got my Cavalli...- Evshrug

...head also contributes to the luxe fit. Any way you slice it, the 701s coddle your head and ears. Because the K 701 is aimed not at the iPod generation but at AKG's studio market, the phones are terminated with a ¼" jack plug. Still, a substantial machined-metal ¼"-to-1/8" converter is...- Redcarmoose

Cayin N3Ultra: an Entry-level Portable DAP that Delivers a Complete Vacuum Tube Audio Experience
.../ BAL. outputs. Are there any DAPs that is a full FPGA system for their DAC? Would be nice to have firmware options that could add features at later dates. Bluetooth would be a nice feature, but I understand the choice with the N3U. The N3U on paper seems like a great iPod Classic replacement.- M3NTAL
