SOHA II Builders Thread
Hello, I'm the happy owner of a SOHA II amp (kit bought at www.glassjaraudio.com). I decided last week to print and archive all information about my amp, from http://www.cavalliaudio.com. And I was too late... Disaster ! There is still a web page, but there are not anymore the schematics...- jmf

K1000 Recable Guide
After further analysis, I may have found the issue. It sems to be a cold solder point between the PCB and the small pin to the tiny wires to the driver (left one in above picture). I first tried to resolder the different pins, and then the solder went AWAY from the pin. I dismounted the...- jmf

K1000 Recable Guide
I went back to my K-1000 tonight, and tried to have a look again. My issue looks like a bad contact somewhere... but where. When I had no sound, I checked the continuity from the jack to the PCB cable solder. They appear to be OK. But no sound. Had a look to the PCB and all seemed OK...- jmf

K1000 Recable Guide
Hello, I have a K-1000 driver which is half working. It looks like a bad contact/solder between the driver and the cable. This tutorial would be very helpful to learn how to access to this connection, but the images (from imageshak) are not available anymore. Would you of another tuto...- jmf

SOHA II Builders Thread
Hi all, It seems that I have solved my DC events, that triggered the e12 from time to time. I tried to see what happened if using only one channel. So I removed the tube of one channel at a time. I tried all permutations of channel tube removed and tube. As a conclusion: one channel at a...- jmf

Hi, I'm puzzled as you are. Even the servos are independant and I only identified a common point at the e12 level, that I disconnected without improving the situation. On DIYaudio, I initially published on the amp forum, but the thread was moved to the headphone one. Less active but with...- jmf

So I consider that I failed. I explored all ideas I had without success. I disconnected one input of the e12 (common point), and it changed nothing. I also inspected solders, redone few nice ones. looked for shortcuts between tracks... All seems OK, but the issue is still here...- jmf

SOHA II Builders Thread
I checked and rechecked. All power supplies lines are clean up to their connection point to the right or left channel. Up to now, I was thinking that my measuring point was maybe not the last one, and that there could be issues between the measuring point and the client. It is not the...- jmf

SOHA II Builders Thread
Hello, I borrowed a scope for 2 weeks, and I started to investigate yesterday evening. I can catch some events, and I' m really puzzled: Facts: - events are between -100mV and + 100mV. They don't always have the same shape/amplitude, - they are exactly the same on L and R channels, so...- jmf

Hello, I finally checked this DC issue. I measured the Voltage between ground and R8 (http://www.cavalliaudio.com/diy/soha%20ii/main.php?page=schematics/ampschematic). I use a DMM, as I don't have a scope. It is usually within few mV. But when the e12 trips, I can catch figures above...- jmf

How similar to speakers can be the AKG K-1000 soundstage ?
At the time, I'm playing with the Hear plugin from the IRCAM, french research institute (using foobar as host). Interesting... and needs more test. http://www.fluxhome.com/products/plug_ins/ircam_hear JMF- jmf
