I see. While I have the Spring3 KTE I find the top (metal casing) to run slightly warm - but I've never felt the side panels. With that said, copper is one of the most dissipating metals, so it would make sense for the sides to be warmer than the rest of the metal casing.

if you just received it how do you know that the DAC unit runs "hotter than usual"? Have you experienced a cooler running DAC unit temperature from a friends?

Yeah, something like that - if I remember correctly there was a 4 in the model and it did look like the WA2 which is why I thought that was it.

Thanks for the congrats - BUT - if I totally prefer one over the other, I will not be keeping both. With that being said - the Envy has quite the job of impressing me to keep it over my WA33, or keeping both if they compliment each other enough for my tastes.

Even though as I mentioned--I've never heard a 300B, my gut tells me I'm going to be keeping both as well. Now all I have to do is take delivery of it and let my ears make the real decision.
