Impressions | aune AR5000 Full-Size Open Headphones with MLD Driver
Has anyone tried this with a pair of sheepskin leather earpads? While I do like the stock pads, in a humid weather like mine, I prefer something that's more sweat-resistant and I do like the feel of leather more.- inscythe

FiiO M23, AK4191EQ+AK4499EX, THX AAA-78+, Dual Type-C Ports, Dual-Core Fast Charging, 1000mW+1000mW @32Ω
@FiiO I watched the same video recently, and I suspect that the user is using the DAP in the car settings mostly, which is likely powered with a car charger. In my experience with car chargers, they do tend to fluctuate a bit and may have caused the M23 to go in and out of Desktop mode, which is...- inscythe

FiiO M23, AK4191EQ+AK4499EX, THX AAA-78+, Dual Type-C Ports, Dual-Core Fast Charging, 1000mW+1000mW @32Ω
I observed this with Q15 as well, at a much lower pace. My guess is that the battery is kept "on standby" in case the power disconnection happens from the power in port, so it is not completely off. This makes sense from a design perspective in a semi-portable, otherwise you might run an issue...- inscythe

We call that "personal taste" around here. I have friends who like M23, and I have friends who hate it too. I guess too bad you just don't understand the concept of subjectivity. Whatever floats your boat, man. I wish you good luck finding your ideal DAP.- inscythe

So far I have tested 4 units of M23 (two at Canjam SG - alu and SS, my personal unit, and a friend's unit), they all do not exhibit the issue described in the video. I doubt it is a widespread issue, but I'd be interested to know what's the cause though.- inscythe

@laleeee I think this is the third time you are asking people whether M23 "sounds thin" or not. I think you should just find a demo unit somewhere and try it yourself. And as I replied to you previously, no, M23 doesn't sound thin to me (even before the update), only for some difficult pairings...- inscythe

Finally I've finished my M23 review. Coming from M11S, I really enjoy the experience after some initial trepidation. Keep up the good work FiiO! https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/fiio-m23.27179/reviews#review-33864- inscythe

Review by 'inscythe' on item 'FiiO M23'
Introduction I was never a big “brick” DAP person. In the past, I have owned some cheap small MP3 players from Creative and Sandisk, but in the end I invested more in desktop setup. It all changed when I bought a FiiO M11S about 1.5 years ago. Having an Android-based player with great battery...- inscythe

The discovery thread!
Just tried the Titan a couple of days ago, decided to wait to see what still remains after getting hyped quite a bit then. This is really a basshead's bassy IEM, crazy how much subbass this delivers. It is really not to my cup of tea, but I can see some people will be extremely pleased with it...- inscythe

Technicality on par with W4. Dynamics are also similar. I find that W4 is a tad more musical in presentation, with MDA3 taking a more clean, accurate presentation. I think they're not a direct replacement of each other. I don't like DC-Elite... It's quite technical as well, but the sound...- inscythe

DITA Audio Project M Discussion Thread
Tonally different. Monarch has that very clean presentation with that distinct layering between bass-mids-treble, making each frequency range to be very detailed and layered yet balanced. Project M is a bit more blended with more focus on upper mids and treble, but that nudges it to be more...- inscythe

Yes, you will be able to, it's literally the entire purpose of this device. The powerbank will also charge your phone too by the way. This is unlike the power split cable (like the one that iBasso recently released) where they just redirect the power from the USB port to an external power...- inscythe
