If you want Pappy just pour some of your favorite bourbon into a glass and add smoke flavor. Pretty much the same thing.- corndog71

You should do this! Turn the Vali’s volume pot all the way up to get it out of the signal path. Kara’s volume control is superior.- corndog71

I use one of these for my bedroom system. I had to get the charging version because with the non-charging adapter MMB1 would drain my iPhone 12’s battery in about 5-6 hours. Even with no music playing.- corndog71

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
It was challenging getting away from civilization but eventually we found a spot. All we could see with the naked eye was the green band arching to the north. But my regular iPhone 12 caught this. This was looking straight up to capture the Big Dipper. You can still see the aurora on the...- corndog71

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Whew! Had to catch up! My brother, who was born for IT, has tried to get me into it for decades to no avail. Best I could do was learn basic HTML back in ‘97 so I could make my own website. But like others have said, my brain is not wired for IT work. I could maybe do the hardware side of...- corndog71

Good eye! The Shure still sounds decent but it’s nearly 9 years old. I keep meaning to get a nice MC cart but too many other things keep taking priority. I’ll get there one of these days. The Groovetracer platter and subplatter made a big difference in performance. Also got the upgraded...- corndog71

I started with Yggy GS with Analog 1 and converted to the now discontinued Analog 2 OG. The former sounded great but the latter added a bit of warmth and perhaps better overall balance to the sound. I could’ve easily lived with the A1 but fomo got the best of me when I had the money. I have...- corndog71

Clarity caps are great! The CMR series is excellent. Don’t use ESA / CSA for tweeters or full range. Their top end drops off quickly making high frequencies sound muted. But they’re fine for mids and woofers.- corndog71
