Seriously… wow, that says a lot. I remember I was considering a 300b amp on a number of occasions before I built the Aegis but I love the Aegis so much I sort of lost interest!

I was just thinking the same thing about the MM. My new chassis had 4 separate aluminium panels and I used some stranded wire with locking washers etc to link them all to earth and did the continuity check you described! Just to be sure!

It sounds like a dodgy batch or QA issue if some but not all fail. I meant to ask if there was any difference in sound between the 400v vs the 600v version? Big difference in size when you see them side by side!

Was it all Jupiter caps or just the 400v ones. The BOM lists the 600v version instead. That said, my first build ran the 400v without any issues for the last year… I fitted the 600v in my latest build though… just in case 😀

Thanks…The chassis is a one of a kind (well, two actually) that I designed and built myself from scratch 😀. So many alterations, changes, from the original chassis… both in terms of size, features and materials. No plans for any more unfortunately.

Latest upgrade…. Out of 4 metres of leather I had just enough to upgrade my drinks coaster to double sided leather. The drinks taste much better for it and go down faster 😂

One of my favourite albums is The Dark Knight (Collectors Edition). The Aegis with EL38s the sound is so dynamic and punchy, fast, detailed and 3d you feel like you’re there with the dark knight himself… you’re in the music, in the action. Love the energy and adrenaline! Just love this amp so...

while the stock tubes are good… there are plenty of tubes out there that will just make your jaw drop. I love this amp so much!!!

lol… yeah. I’m now at the point now I only add something new once in a while otherwise I could be left spinning at the variety of options… it’s insane in a beautiful way! New tubes receive a min of 60hrs before they’re allowed to be removed… that’s my first rule of Aegis Club 😂

Thanks 😀 ... I fancied a high gloss finish but I was also influenced by the Auris Nirvana... the leather centre feels very tactile when combined with a glass smooth paint job. The Nirvana all has cutouts for the dials similar to the cutouts I've made for the tubes 😀
