Didnt need to remove that screw afterall. Shimmied out with some prying. Just have to maneuver out the prongs attached to driver sleeve which are also used for cup rotation. I did try the oil on the screw but didnt help which is why I resorted to violence. I put the drivers into SR60 cups and...- Philimon

Orthodynamic Roundup
Indeed a good measure for my MiniDSP rig. Just the first pad I tried so Im sure frequency response measurements can be improved with other pads or mods. And Im sure subjective impressions too can be adjusted for as well. Just like with other headphones, I feel less acoustic impedance damping...- Philimon

SS-100 does not have any bass loss issues and channels match well. phew! ^ MiniDSP EARS, SS-100 (hybrid pads) vs HD650. The approximately 80mm diameter hybrid pads were just placed on top of stock pancake pads. - Headband needs to be bent to make fit head well. - Not enough cup rotation to...- Philimon

I like SR60 (F-pads) (again). Definitely some forward lower treble that is fun upon first listen but fatiguing over long listens which is how I imagine classic Grado. Cheap SR60 like cheap Porta Pro in that the bass extends and sounds very nice considering price and small form factor. a/b...- Philimon

Sansui SS-100 Seems to work fine and sound good. Fatter pads will add more v-shape response and increase comfort from deflated pancake pads... Ill probably use the same pads I used on T30 and RP18 which are the cheap but nice and pillowy hybrids pads. fwir they use twice as much wool damping as...- Philimon

Show us your vintage headphones!
Nakamichi SP-7 and Grado SR60 Family resemblance is no coincidence. SP-7 uses a driver of similar origins and design as Grado HP-1000. Sounds like a vintage Grado! Plan to transplant driver to SR60. Sansui SS-100 :> edit: to show Nak suspension strap.- Philimon

Anybody handy? I cant remove these tight screws even with a vise grip for leverage. I tried both directions too just in case. I want to remove and plop drivers into SR60.- Philimon

Pardon this interruption from cousin Nakamichi SP-7. F-pads from iPhone dongle.: - Just like a Grado… Will compare to SR60 and 325x later. - From memory, reminds me most of SR60 aside from more forward vocals here. I think open-back enclosure would add some warmth and make these next level. -...- Philimon

Edit: Assuming same pads on each: RS2x is a bit brighter with a bit less bass relative to 325x. More resolving than 325x but not worth cost of worse tone, imo obviously. What is similar to 325x? Other x-Prestige models I suspect based on 80x, 225x, and 325x impressions here...- Philimon

Just bought a cheap Nakamichi SP-7 and Grado SR60 for transplant mod. If youre unaware, the Nak uses a driver very similar to HP-1000 driver. Will update with pics and impressions. Thanks @devouringone3- Philimon
