Yep, 1.81 is working much better. So far so good.....

    Smyth Research Realiser A16

Seeing as how they survived as a company with the Realiser A8, I'm not worried about Smyth Research disappearing as a company. They never had any real competition for the A8, let alone the A16. Granted it's a very niche market, but Smyth Research completely owns it now. It's unfortunate that...

Web browser interface would be the most ideal. Being able to control A16 from Smartphone would be much better than using the remote.

    Smyth Research Realiser A16

Having a personalized PRIR in a top notch studio is a night and day difference. My current favorite is a local studio in Los Angeles, California (where I live). AIX Records. I have a 5.1 and 7.1 PRIR I recorded there a long time ago. They're my favorite profiles. I really hope they upgrade...

Smyth Research Realiser A16 - Issues, Questions, Feature Requests, Tips and Tricks

Anyone able to get multichannel audio to work with USB input? It's only two channel for me in Windows 10.

Smyth Research Realiser A16 - Issues, Questions, Feature Requests, Tips and Tricks

I updated the firmware of my old Analog non-HDMI Realiser A8 and it was able to convert my old PRIR00xx files and then save them back to SD card as PRIR20xx files. Lorr walked through it quickly on the phone. The HDMI A8 just has an added daughter board, the firmware is identical for all models.

Sale on Made in USA Headphone Cases

Does the Voce fit in this case? Probably won't fit the Voce due to it's attached cables, but just checking. Probably best to use a Nanuk / Pelican case for transport anyways.

I still have my OG HE-6. I don't miss the old headband style at all.

I might have to ressurrect my old Velodyne HGS-10 Sub. Maybe a mix of my Crowson actuators and the Velodyne sub might give the best of both worlds without upsetting family members sleeping in an adjacent room.

    Planar headphones for gaming.

I game with my HiFiMan HE1000. I use an Antlion Modmic with it routed through an Astro MixAmp for chat volume control, an old JVC/Victor SU-DH1 Dolby Headphone processor for surround sound (will switch to Smyth Research A16 when it eventually ships to me), and output the audio to my HeadAmp GSX...

I would hope that the majority of the founders and leaders of our favorite headphone companies would contribute to their children's higher education, and pass on their knowledge and love for our hobby.

HiFiMan Susvara Review: The HE6 is Dead, Long Live the Susvara

I have not yet, but I'll definitely give it a go when I get a chance in the future. Probably won't be using a speaker amp for a long time, but I can certainly get some quality time comparing HE1000se to the Susvara with pinnacle level balanced output headphone amplifiers.

    HiFiMan Susvara

LOL, we're talking about the Susvara like it's to the inefficiency level of ye old AKG K1000's.

which electrostat has the fullest sound

Stax 009s has pretty decent bass compared to it's predecessor. Moreso than the Voce. But the Voce had better imaging and flatter/tighter bass. Overall, the Stax 009s was a little more "exciting" to listen to when compared to the more neutral sounding Voce. But based on my memory, I did...

Still not tempted to upgrade to a new phone from my V30+. Maybe a V50+ with an even better DAC?

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

As much as I like my Jaybird X2's and Freedom 2's, I only use them for my workouts. I haven't found a pair of Wireless IEM's that will keep me from using my JH Audio Layla's. Now if only JH Audio or someone would make a wireless Dongle adapter or something for Custom IEM's.

HiFiMan Susvara Review: The HE6 is Dead, Long Live the Susvara

Overall, the HE1000 v2 is more fun because of bigger soundstage and more bass, but the Susvara's better refinement cannot be denied. And yeah, the last 5-10% in Audiophile land is very very very expensive. :p

HiFiMan Ananda BT - Biggest, Baddest, Bluetooth Headphones

While not the first Bluetooth Planar Headphones/earphones, the upcoming HiFiMan Ananda BT is definitely the first serious audiophile attempt at full sized wireless bluetooth headphones. Not at all surprised that HiFiMan is first. It's supposed to be using Huawei's HWA Audio Codec (LDHC). Not...

HiFiMan Susvara Review: The HE6 is Dead, Long Live the Susvara

I'm beginning to suspect that one as well. I had a conversation with a friend that has the Susvara and GSX mk2 as well, and he feels that the Susvara can use more power as well, from other more powerful headphone amps he tried.

    HiFiMan Susvara

You'd be surprised at how mint condition people can keep their headphones. But for sure, something like the Sony R10's are too organic and basically decay on their own over time. And I really tire of the argument of touting speakers as an alternative to high end headphones. Some of us live...

    HiFiMan Susvara

The Susvara is significantly more aggressive than the HE1000. Very punchy in comparison, almost too edgy at first (particularly treble), but after breaking/burning them in, it smoothed out. Mid bass not nearly as strong as the HE1000, though, but the Susvara goes lower and the bass sounds a...

    HiFiMan Susvara

I'm kind of struggling to find a good way to describe the imaging and soundstage differences between the Susvara and Utopias as well. It's not that the Utopias have better imaging in general, it's just that it's tighter grouped because of the smaller perceived soundstage. Best analogy I can...

    HiFiMan Susvara

Not at all. Far from it. The soundstage is still large. It's just that the HE1000's soundstage is very wide. Compared to another flagship like the Focal Utopia, the Susvara has a much larger soundstage. It's a night and day difference. Compared to the Susvara, the Utopia has a very boxed...
