Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
I noticed a difference between toslink and usb too, both sound good in it’s own way. But difference propably is, with usb you use the tt2 clocks and with toslink the source clocking. In my situation of the tt2 neither was bad. Most of the time when things get a little smoother it means better...- jjazzy

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
User experience is a whole different story, I agree. With almost all of them roon is almost a must have, or live with a lesser user experience. Spotify wins regarding user experience from all of them, I agree totally. So now I use spotify for convience situations and qobuz for quality moments...- jjazzy

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
It is never overkill, but from all streaming services, spotify sounds the worst (and I tried all of them). It has nothing to do with no lossless (because I have some mp3 files that sound fine). It is just something spotify does with their compression. Just Try, deezer qobuz or tidal, and...- jjazzy

You can do that with the A8 as well, I hate EQ in any form, but that is another discussion- jjazzy

Burson Soloist 3X Grand Tourer Head Amp/Pre Amp w/Sub out - 10W XLR
You only should lowering the rpm just a little. Adding padding to the fan does not work much. What does work is putting foam under the housing instead of on it’s feet. Part of the noise is caused by the resonance of the casing causes by the fan.- jjazzy

Burson Soloist 3X Grand Tourer Head Amp/Pre Amp w/Sub out - 10W XLR
You can do that with the current soloist to, put a noctua fan controller between it. To just calm it down just a little. Only thing important don’t put the amp in a cabinet when doing that, because the amp becomes a little warmer.- jjazzy

I have some nat king cole albums in different productions, some are totally awfull. I even have some vinyls, that sound insane amazing, but the digital recording (of that specific album, various of them), my life… a total utter remaster f*ck up- jjazzy

Is it the same production? Because the album might be the same, the production doesn’t have to be. Or it is a remaster of some sort (which is not always a good case)- jjazzy

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
compared to the tt2 + mscaler, the qutest sounds thin, les stage (the mscaler helps somewhat, but still not in tt2 territory). I had a little less issue with headphone and amp, but connected to my full hifi set, the difference became huge. the tt2 combi has more stage, depth, air around...- jjazzy

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
I agree, that helps. But that was even not enough for me (I did all those things). In the end for me personally it was a waste of money. After half a year owning the qutest I had enough, and started looking elsewhere. I could have bought a mscaler for it, but just hate the looks together 😂 (I...- jjazzy

Eversolo DMP-A8 Streamer, DAP, DAC and Preamp
Seriously? Stop giving false advice, there is a difference, and it is big. It is just like saying al dac chips sound the same, which they are not. Did you do A/B compare with several streamers at the same time? Well I did! Was at the shop for 5 hours listening. Eversolo a6, a6 master, eversolo...- jjazzy

Eversolo DMP-A8 Streamer, DAP, DAC and Preamp
WiiM sounds way less, compared to a a8 from eversolo or a hifi rose. I owned a WiiM in the past, and a Zen stream. And out of experience. The a8 came extremely close to the eversolo rs130 The dac is amazing of the a8, but also as streamer only (that’s how I use it, because it was way better...- jjazzy

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
The qutest +mscaler has some features, a taste of the ‘Dave’ signature, is more bright. Some love it (the dave, some don’t. The tt2+mscaler, has all the details and very very close to the Dave, but adds just that tad of smoothness (just a little). That makes it for me the nicest solutions (but...- jjazzy

Well I would not connect them full size speakers?? IMHO I use it as headphone amp, but for my speakers I use a decent fullsize 400 watt per channel amp- jjazzy

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
Yes if you don’t want to buy both at one’s, get the mscaler first. My advice if you don’t want to buy it, don’t go listen to the combi tt2+mscaler, it is so insane good. I tried the mscaler with the tt2 and compared it the qutest combi, but after 2 months… I gave up and bought both at the same...- jjazzy

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
I had the qutest, I borrowed a tt2+mscaler, and tested al combinations. Tt2 alone sounds better than the qutest. Add the mscaler and the tt2 gets to a whole another level. Qutest with mscaler sounds better but still was not exactly what I wished for. It came in tt2 territory, but not on all...- jjazzy

I compared the u2 (not the mini) to the eversolo a8. (The a6’s are quite less as a transport) the lumin sounded similar, but way more expensive and a annoying app. Eversolo supports al streaming services. If you have a little chat ar a few shops you always get some discount. I payed 1600 for my...- jjazzy

iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
Yes you can… g*d🤦🏻♂️ why always that same discussion… just because you can’t hear it on your equipment it does not mean it is not there. I have the zen stream, while I think it is more than okay for headphones, not with my hifi amp, when I bought my flagship musical fidelity m8xi 800.2 nu...- jjazzy

iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
for the money the Zen stream is a amazing device, but it is quite the shock how much better the eversolo a8 is, don't give it 5 minutes, really take your time. You don't want to go back after that.- jjazzy
