Kaldas Research RR 1 Conquest ($500 Electrostatic)

As already written in a german forum. I have no problems (distortion or something like this) with the RR1 and my music. I tried a lot of tracks with much more bass than your above mentioned test track but everything is fine. Only this special track sounds a little bit strange. I will check it...

Kaldas Research RR 1 Conquest ($500 Electrostatic)

Nice review. I'm used to bright headphones as a HD800 fanboy and Stax Lambda Pro and L700 owner but I had no issues to readjust my brain. Everything was fine after switching to the RR1. Yes, the sound is warmer but far away from being dark as a LCD-2. For me it is a good compromise of both...

The Stax SR-L500 and SR-L700 Impressions Thread

My L700 is not that squeezing like you posted in the videos. No issue here.

Kaldas Research RR 1 Conquest ($500 Electrostatic)

I didn't start comparing RR1 with my other Stax stuff. But from my memory I would say that the RR1 is a little bit warmer and he doesn't shine that much in the treble as most of the Stax stuff do. But don't get me wrong everything is there and fine. And he is not emphasizing the voices as some...

Kaldas Research RR 1 Conquest ($500 Electrostatic)

The RR1 finally arrived today. Build quality, haptics and optics are awesome. All the accessories (description etc.) are really nice and like your approach to try to reduce the plastic waste. Very nice Aumkar. After round about 2h hearing with this beautiful headphone I can say that sonically...

    AudioValve Solaris universal amp

Good choice. I'm as well a happy Solaris owner.

    The Stax Thread III

Not quite right, the AudioValve Solaris can handle all as well  . I'm kidding :innocent:. He is the big brother of Luminare. I know it because the factory of AudioValve is only 20km away from my house and I own one (Solaris) and my L700 sounds great with it :smile_phones:.

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

Your are right, not all tube amps sounds warm but a lot of them. I read many comments in other forums (most the time in german forums (nomax, fidelio, etc.) and they suggested to use an amp/dac combo which sounds a little bit brighter than neutral to fit the Empyrean best. Hopefully I can test...

Empyrean and tube amps ? I'm pretty sure this is too warm. Could be warmth² :grinning:

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

Yes, everyone should have their own experiences but don't be too disappointed, when it doesn't fit your expectations. Same the other way round. If you like the warmth of Audeze, a HD800 is probably not a perfect match for you. This should not be a prejudice, it is only my opinion.

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

The Audio Technica is so underrated. It sounds so damn good connected balanced on my tube amp. I had one for about 3 days and I was really impressed. For me the best dynamic headphone.

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

I'm not surprised. The Empyrean is for sure a great headphone but doesn't fit all of us. If you like headphones with a little bit more energy in the mids or upper frequencies, the Empyrean should not be your first choice. Means if you are a Stax (except 007) or HD800(S) lover, keep your fingers...

New silver cable incoming ? That could be great for the Empyrean. Some extra juice in the upper frequencies is appreciated :L3000:

2017 Audio Technica new flagship ATH-ADX5000

+1 You are not alone  I had the same experiences but it seems that the customers/market want headphones with darker sound :cold_sweat:. The ADX5000 is a great headphone !

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone

I have had the same experiences but the other way round. For me the Empyrean sounded a little bit too thick and veiled compared to my other stuff (compared to HD800S, AKG K812, Audeze LCD-X, Stax, Denon D7200, etc.). Okay he never sounds fatiguating but I missed a little bit the energy (clarity)...

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

Maybe my question is already answered but 999 sides are too much to read ;-). Does the Hugo 2 has enough power to drive a Hifiman HE-5LE or similar hungry headphones properly or is it better to use it only as a DAC and use a more powerful amp instead ? Thanks
