If you can weed through the entertainment intent, he does make some valid points. My take is he thought they are great HPs, but you need to tweak/adjust them for each song and the equipment you are using all the time, and that becomes cumbersome... I think once you get past his entertainment...

in a former life I helped small businesses become successful, so I understand the limitations that a company like Audeze may have compared to much larger companies that have been around for a long time.

Check out Crutchfields, the have next day delivery, and they have 2 pair at reduced costs (I believe $4000 and $3500), I'm pretty sure one pair is a return from a good friend of mine which I listened to for a few days. He wore the gloves so they are in perfect condition,,,

that was my experience too, EQ provided a different sound but not necessarily a better sound for the equipment I am using...

I have listened to and held 3 different pairs of LCD5s and each one the cups rotated where you could lay them flat on a surface.

curious on how you long so many hours (500+) are you using continuous loop of music or is this dedicated listening. For anyone that does the trade-in you have 10 days to decide, so wondering if that is enough time for the LCD5 to produce best sound?

I think you answered your own question and will find the same experience with the LCD5 as you did with the LCD4 in having that emotional connection to the music and hearing all the details, but the learning curve will be much quicker then it was getting use to the LCD4. IMHO after getting use...
