Ever wonder how these speeds became the standard? 16 2/3? 33 1/3? Why not just 16 and 33? 🤣 🤣- bcowen

I really like the 7N7. One of my favorites....so far. And that particular tube cost me $5 a while back. The Foton (6N8S/6SN7) is OK, but there are others I like better. Of course that's only one of how many hundreds of different 6SN7's out there. But that's just me...- bcowen

Hopefully @LobalWarming 's post answered your question. But just as a matter of general info, the voltage the tube operates at is established by the component. In the Vali 3, 6.3 volts is supplied to the tube's heaters. Doesn't matter what tube you stick in there, there will always be 6.3v at...- bcowen

That can have a negative effect on the value of most all tubes. Except Philips ECG's, where it would be an act of kindness to pretty much everyone. 🤣- bcowen

Never, ever, cut the blue wire. The Carolina faction would come after you which should make you very afraid. Always cut the red wire, 'cause that's some Indiana types that are far more nuisance than threat. 🤣 🤣- bcowen

The original LP pressing of this is a superb recording. Have it and the MFSL CD, but haven't ever A/B'd them. Somehow it seems kind of insulting to the music that comes through so nicely in both formats.- bcowen

Yeah, but was thinking with the size of that thing it would have some more horsepower. Guess we'll have to wait on the report from @Paladin79 which will hopefully have more detailed info than the Incubus manual. 🤣- bcowen

Actually, that's from when I'd added some more tubes to the vault and was trying to get the door closed. Stupid things don't compress worth a damn.- bcowen
