I almost find it hard to believe people think these cans have overpowering bass. My 780's have 72 hours on them and the bass is still a bit too weak for me. It has tightened up over time, but is still FAR from strong or overpowering. Must be just a difference of opinion over what constitutes...

I just got my 780's in the mail. So far (20 minutes) they do sound pretty darn good. Definitely better than my Shure E3C's. Time to start burning these things in!

The WMA gives a better battery life than MP3 of the same bitrate on a Zune. But WMA Lossless would likely drain the fastest of all the supported formats due to the high bitrate.

There were a number of blogs which reported that the 30gb lost EQ, but they turned out to be false. Not that it matters much anyways. Like you said, the flat EQ is quite good i think.

The updated zunes (30gb) absolutely still have EQ. And during the launch for the V2 80gb, there were experimental software enabled EQ options for the 80gb.

Go to the Zune software settings. There is a tab for it in there. I have a zune 30gb on hand atm, so i can't tell you the exact wording. Edit- It does appear they removed it in one of the firmware updates. My bad. It was there right after launch, not anymore. Though the original software...

Yes, yes there are. You must select them via the Zune software though. They can't be adjusted on the actual device. (the 30gb does not have this problem).

well, you can eq the zune 80...just not with custom eq's. Just the few pre-defined ones (which is rather worthless).

As other have said, i prefer to know that i am listening to the exact song as it was released to consumers. In addition, i often connect my portable to a high-end home theater system where the difference is clear.

My 780's should come next Thursday. What do you all suggest is the best way to efficiently burn them in? I've heard people saying 12 hours really loud then 12 hours soft for a few days... others claim more bizarre, technical methods. Or does it really not even matter?
