When getting eartips, the standard bore size are 3mm, 4.5mm, and 6mm. And since the bore is made of Silicone, it is flexible and expandable. So 4.5mm is just nice for Trio nozzle size. It fits nicely. Currently I use SpinFit for Trio.

Comment by 'earfonia' in item 'Audio-Technica ATH-ADX5000'

Opposite tuning. R70x is rather south of neutral, a bit towards the warm side, while ADX5000 is north of neutral, towards the analytical side. Detail and resolution, hands down ADX5000 is way better than R70x. But those who like smooth warm sound tuning for easy listening and vocal, IMHO, might...

Nice review! From the measurement, 70 dB SNR at output 108 mV, which will be around 73 dB with A weighting, usually hiss noise will be easily heard on IEM. So, I'm curious that in your test you didn't any noticeable hiss with IEMs. Anyway, it does look like a very interesting amp indeed!

Reply to review by 'earfonia' on item 'Stax SRS-3100'

@GrilledSalmon, I don't have much experience with electrostatic headphones, but the SRM-3100 is faster than R70x, more realistic and transparent, but not for fast bass punch. So for large dynamic like bass slam, SRM-3100 is not better than R70x, but for micro dynamic, like strings pizzicato...

@GrilledSalmon Value wise R70x still better IMHO. They do share some similarities in sonic signatures, and yes you might like the STAX as well. I do feel the STAX sounds a bit more refined, smoother, more transparent and open sounding. But build quality wise, especially the comfort, I prefer R70x.

@dw1narso the SRS-3100 is not a detail oriented system either. But when paired with detailed sounding sources, the pair sounds realistically musical, with very good detail but presented naturally, not in analytical way. There is some effortless characteristic I could hear from SRS-3100, but...
