Ah, the Tungsten! Amazing how a prototype of wires and circuits straight can lay waste to tables and tables of finished, ready to ship offerings from globally respected firms desperate to capture the ears of the Head-fi faithful. Normally, I'd dismiss it all as a symptom of the "upgraditist"...

Thanks for showcasing the HD800s, too. Softened highs, slightly more bass made it more listenable for most stuff, but a little less rollicking with good gear and first-rate cuts than the original, imo. 

That's ok, then, I know there are no crybabies in the Lord family. You don't need no stinkin' badges...

I'd be interested in an X-Large Cavalli shirt (reminds me of an old Kung-Fu shirt my brother used to wear), a large Cavalli Tungsten amp, and throw in a medium Cavalli bandage for Jason Lord's finger, as long as you're at it! 

My thoughts exactly. A story that goes way beyond headphones, and one that makes me appreciate innovators, once again. 

It's a complicated issue. Do you hold an event that promotes the enthusiasm of everyone meeting fellow headphone fans and encountering new gear? Or, do you limit the experience so that optimal conditions exists? CES has circus crowds and boring audio tombs and neither are ideal for a headphone...

Of course, I haven't heard the Tungsten, yet...

Just got back from the first day. This event just gets bigger, but also better organized, every year! Lots of people, but rarely too crowded to keep me from listening to something I'd like to hear. I'll post a more detailed impression tomorrow after the second day, but here were my highlights...

That would seem inevitable, given the many comments about price point. But even at the price offered, there's definitely room in the headphone amp market for the sonic signature of the Heron. But i agree, if the same sound could come at a cheaper price, it would be an attractive offering...
