RME ADI-2 DAC Thread
Looking to improve from Spotify premium, I signed up for a trial of Amazon HD. Then I discovered that my streamer, Bluesound Node, will only allow Amazon HD thru the BluOS system which is very clunky. I really want to avoid that route. Canceled the Amazon. Actually, only Spotify and Tidal can...- UMN

RME ADI-2 DAC Thread
I have been streaming Spotify Premium thru a Bluesound Node into my RME (and then into my headphones.) I would like to increase my fidelity. I read that Tidal won't give me any improvement over Spotify Premium because the RME doesn't handle MQA. Is there an alternative (Qobuz or Deezer) that is...- UMN

Is anyone using an Audiophile Ninja SE cable instead of the stock rubber one? How do they compare sound wise? Thanks.- UMN

Listening with speakers and open-back headphones simultaneously dramatically improved the soundstage!
Caught myself listening simultaneously both to my speakers and my cans, and enjoying it. Adds additional width to the soundstage. My set up is a bit unique in that I listen to desktop electrostatic speakers (Monsoon MM-2000). My headphones are Hifiman Ananda originals.- UMN

Firesign: I am also using an RME ADI-2 DAC with my Ananda. As an alternative to no EQ, I am curious as to what EQ profile you have found works with the Ananda.- UMN

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
Regarding driving an Arya: I just purchased a Hifiman Ananda after the NY CANJAM. Upgraded from a HE5xx. Still early. However, my WA-6 is driving them fine. Admittedly, I don't listen very loud. Tube set: Mullard CV593 & GE cleartop 6FD7's.- UMN

Congratulations. I purchased my used WA6 1st gen. 4 years ago. No problems at all. If I were you, I would just plug it in and play. If you have issues, then contact Woo Audio.- UMN

The Reference 6SN7 Thread
Interesting. I don't know the significance of this small sample size, but if you take a quick look on eBay, currently the white letter pairs of Sylvania VT-231 for sale far outnumber the green lettered pairs.- UMN

Does anyone know why some Sylvania VT-231 have green lettering and some have white lettering? Thanks.- UMN

All this talk about 6SN7’s made me want to try my Sylvania VT-231‘s on my WA6 with my GZ32 rectifier and Hifiman HE5xx. Woo adaptors. Wow. Beautiful imaging and soundstage: deep and wide. (The last time I tried this tube combination was with my HD6xx. However, it’s a better fit with the HE5xx.)...- UMN

On my WA6 1st Gen., I use a Mullard GZ32 CV593 rectifier, plus either 6FD7 fat bottles for jazz, or 60's Sylvania 6DR7's for classical.- UMN

RME ADI-2 DAC Thread
I always had my RME working as a preamp for my tube Woo WA6. I listen primarily to jazz and classical. Just tried listening to classical with my Hifiman HE5XX plugged directly into the RME and am loving it. For Jazz I still like listening thru the tube Woo WA6. Does anyone else use there set...- UMN

Drop x HiFiMAN HE-5XX
I just got an email from Drop that they lowered the price of Drop Hifiman HE5XX to $200 for Prime Week (instead of the normal $220.) Not sure how long this lower price will last........- UMN

I agree that rectifiers do make a big difference in my "regular" WA6. My current favorite is the Mullard CV593.- UMN
