Audio Technica ATH-SX1a
I should clarify my intention of posting to this thread was to add an additional endorsement of the SX1A headphones in English. There really isn't much in out there a non-Japanese speaker can reference around these. That said, I am far from a headphone expert. I've benefited greatly from...- Trls250

Audio Technica ATH-SX1a
I did try the sound warrior sw-hp10 and thought it sounded very good but not quite on the same level as the SX1a. Its been some months now but I remember being off put by the soundwarriors build, the SX1a felt more solid.- Trls250

Audio Technica ATH-SX1a
I should clarify that I was using balanced to mean that these headphones did a good job at balancing the hi's, mids and lows. Full bodied would have been a better term to use, I see after searching there is an amplified type but it is not how I intended to use it. As for the AT sound...- Trls250

Audio Technica ATH-SX1a
Since there seems to be nowhere else online that mentions these headphones in English I thought I'd add my opinion. I got these on a recent trip to Japan after trying all of the headphones in a Yodobashi camera. At the price I thought nothing else came close in terms of a full balanced sound...- Trls250

Grado SR125 VS Audio-technica ATH-ANC7
have you considered sennheiser hd-25's? Would definitely be in your price range used but it may be worth it to consider spending a bit more.- Trls250

Wooden portable ATH-ESW9 arrived! (with pics)
Damn which ends up being $333? I guess my best bet may just be ac gear in Manhattan. $300 retail with the NY sales tax of 8% so approx $324- Trls250

Wooden portable ATH-ESW9 arrived! (with pics)
good to know for the HFI 780's, I guess this rules them out. Aside from the hd-25's Does anyone have any other ideas for some closed head phones to pit these against? Bluetin is the lowest price I see for the ESW9's after shipping to the states.- Trls250

How is bluetin's service? Also what else should be considered against these. I had been set on the hd-25's for a while but tried these out at audio cubes today and was very pleased with the warm sound. Musicmaker had suggested the ultrasone hfi 780's.- Trls250

Does audiocubes have any pairs on the floor for trying out? I'm really starting to consider getting a pair of these over the hd-25's. Still, $310 list price at ac is pretty expensive (not to mention NY sales tax). Quote: Originally Posted by phkd same here! AC Gears (the...- Trls250

325i v 225 v HD-25 v whatever else
Thank you for the replies. It seems like every touched on the Alessandro MS2i's and with these four responses the verdict is split. Anyone with more input on them? GlendaleViper I think you pointed out a good idea with the second hand option. I really can't make a decision for going with...- Trls250

325i v 225 v HD-25 v whatever else
I'm looking to upgrade my Sennhesier HD-497s and have been trying to explore as many options as possible since I figure I only really need one pair of headphones and don't mind spending what, for me, is a good amount of money at $300 max. My general use for these could be looked at as 80%...- Trls250

best unamped headphones sub $200 ?
The proposed question by the original poster is more or less the same question I am asking myself, although I would spend a bit more than $200 if the reward were that much greater. I can't see myself spending more than $300 though. Anyhow the models I have considered so far are the grado 225s...- Trls250
