If you can get the tuning kit. You get all the meshes as well as all the pads for $150, and that is just too good a deal to pass up. If you didn't include it in your order email ZMF and see if they will add it to your order.

I was going to reply too till I saw his comment in the CC thread. I would have a harder time recommending one over the other. I do love the CC more, but when I put on the AC they are so much fun to listen too.

I'm a big fan of Cayin tube amps and the HA-3A is in your price range. You should also be able to find the HA-6A used in that price range. Edit: Sorry, saw that you want a Dac/Amp. Adding a good DAC for what I said takes you past the 2k range.

Just tells you that the only opinion that matters is your own. I personally love the Caldera Ultra Perf on the AO.
