Yes I did notice a difference, though it was a pretty small increase in Fidelity. I noticed a larger increase with going to a network based audio transport like Roon and a Roon endpoint. I built my own Roon endpoint with a Raspberry Pi, but the UltraRendu will work too.

The pops are normal when turning the amp on and off. You should alway disconnect your transducers when turning the unit on/off, so you don't damage them. Also, there is a cleaning procedure DACT has on their website. That should take care of the noise you are hearing when changing the volume...
