Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
Made two ugly LOD cables salvaged from the stock D2K cable (which has been in the storage for yrs), with and without caps in the dock connector. It wasn't easy to have the caps soldered to the pins and wires in that tiny space. I wouldn't want to reopen it after it's closed. These days I rarely...- DMinor

Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
Thanks for your quick reply. I am trying to reuse the cable (with the stock jack) to make a line-out cable for ipod's dock (30 pin). So which color is for right or left channel?- DMinor

Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
I need help to identify the wires in the stock D2000 cable. I am assuming the black wires are for ground, but how about the other two wires? Which one is for right channel or left channel? I recabled my D2K long time ago so I forgot which wire is for which. Now I want to use the leftover...- DMinor

Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread
Since my iFlash Quad only works with one card, today I returned the other 3 cards to Amazon. This was the first time I ever needed to return one of the so many items bought from Amazon over the yrs. I was impressed by how easy and convenient it is to return items. I dropped it at a local...- DMinor

Yeah I checked the cards are fine. don't think the cables are the issue as I tried on two 7g's and another two video's. No luck. Interestingly just a few moment ago, I did an experiment putting one 512GB sdxc card into an micro SD adapter then into another CF card adapter. It worked! I...- DMinor

It appears with the SDXC cards and adapter the mod result is based on your luck. I thought I would give it a try for a 2TB ipod to satisfy my curiosity, but I am gonna return the cards and forget about it. I bought the iFlash Quad from iDemiGods, and think that's authentic.- DMinor

Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread
Has anyone successfully tried this Sandisk Micro SDXC and capacity with iFlash Quad? My attempts all failed on ipod classic 7g and ipod video 5.5g, with a single card, or 2 cards, or 3 cards or 4 cards. All I got were red X or sad face. The cards were bought and shipped directly from Amazon...- DMinor

Long time no here. Lost interest in collecting more or modding for many years. That said, I have been using many of the ipods I have collected and modded. I think I have three 7th gen classic's and rest are diyimods for the 5.0 or 5.5 gen's. At home I use one with dock to my sound system, three...- DMinor

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)
I have been away from HF forum for a long time. These days I don't use iem's that much, but whenever I do I am still amazed by the EX1000 for the sound. I am an EX1000 user since April 2012, and still using the same pair after I got a 2nd pair a few yrs ago as backup pair. The EX1000 is...- DMinor

SONY NW-ZX100 DAP
I think I'll get one of the cases before I get a ZX100. :) I have auditioned the ZX100 many times at the Narita airport and I like the sounding paired with my EX1000. I also auditioned the wm1Z many times at a Sony store in Singapore, and I am still impressed by the ZX100 regardless of the...- DMinor

I had the 2000 mAh battery with fat back plate for CF card. Is there a thinner 2000 mAh battery which can fit in a stock Classic 7.5g case for CF card using the Tarkan adapter?- DMinor

I agree if you want to have anything more than 256GB, especially Terapods in your case, definitely go with the SD's given the Tarkan adapter. One question, with the Tarkan dual adapter do you still have to use Apple's disk mode to copy files for RB to avoid occasional corruptions?- DMinor

Pictures of Your Portable Rig (part XVI)
I sampled the daps below for a lengthy time today at a Sony shop in Singapore using my EX1000. My impressions ..... 1. WM1Z is heavy but I like the feel. If someone wants to rob you just throw at that sucker with this baby. It sounds clearly better than WM1A with fuller and heavier sounding...- DMinor

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)
The EX1000 cable (the japan version for the EX1000) appears much durable than the EX600 cable. Two pairs of EX600 cables died in my hands while my EX1000 cable has been running strong for 2 yrs now, considering I never babysit it and I throw it in my pocket almost daily on the go.- DMinor
