Porsche Design Sound/KEF Space One and Motion One

So then, I've spent enough time comparing the B&O H6 to the Space One....and all I got to say in MMA terms is.... .....AND STILL.....!!!!! The Space Ones will be going back, the H6 still reigns supreme. Build While I had no issues with the weight, which is around 308g without battery, the...

Porsche Design Sound/KEF Space One and Motion One

So then, curiosity killed the cat.....I went ahead and placed an order for the Space One via Amazon and will be delivered tomorrow. I'll be comparing these directly to the B&O H6 (version 1). From what I have read thus far I am super excited about the sound signature. I still have some...

Porsche Design Sound/KEF Space One and Motion One

The question is can the Space One be used without any battery installed? Just with simple wire?

Porsche Design Sound/KEF Space One and Motion One

Sounds good. I'm proper tempted to give this a shot. I could not care less about the wireless version as I am not a fan of bluetooth audio quality and the last thing I would want is for my super expensive cable to go to waste.

Porsche Design Sound/KEF Space One and Motion One

Could I use these without an inserted battery, with just the cable? That would bring the weight down to 300g.

Thanks very much for taking the time to confirm the weight. Appreciate it. I do wonder how Kef came to 265g. This really throws a spanner into the works now as it's heavier than I would have liked.

    Ultrasone Pro 2900 Thread

Thanks for the reply. I also received official confirmation from Ultrasone there are no technical changes to the driver or sound; just cosmetic changes to the headband which should increase the comfort.   Thanks for the comparison. The K702 sounds different to the K712 from what I have read...

Anyone know the difference between Gen1 and Gen2 H7? Never knew one existed until I saw the listing on Thomann.

I guess you require open-back headphones. I am in the same situation and currently considering a headphone less than 300 grams for comfort:   2nd hand K712 Ultrasone Pro 2900i Audio Technica R70x  2nd hand Sennheiser HD700

If you are talking about a mobile phone then I guess the bass will sound not so strong and the overall sound quality would suffer. But that would apply to any headphone run through a mobile which lacks a quality amp.   Just bite the bullet man and don't look back.

Not at all. It's perfect with the DX50. Plenty bass, really strong, when called for, that's the key.

1st. Would never dream of buying the 2nd gen due to emphasised bass and other changes people here talk about.

Of course, in that case it should be noticable on all songs if the drivers are unbalanced.

That just implies the tracks are not recorded fully balanced and the H6 are accurately, truthfully showing you as things are. Again, nothing wrong with the headphones.

You hit the nail on the head. As already confirmed the V2 run more efficient therefore playback "louder" at the same volume as V1. This extra "loudness" may be what folks are perceiving as "better sound"....   Like I said, if you have a good amp to run the V1, then do not look back. If one...

Perhaps they are using cheaper components and sub-standard materials to maximize profits by introducing a version 2. Makes sense.   V1 will always be number 1....now a classic and instant legend.
