"Open Alpha" T50 3D printed headphone project from MrSpeakers
So, I am super late to the party lol.. Anyways been out of the headphone game for some time after the wife and me had a child (cant really use headphones with small kids)... Anyways I have since moved onto other hobbies and 3d printing was one of them (have built 3 Voron's etc).. So I looked a...- kejar31

I use my 4XX's on an NFB11.28 and a Magni3/Mimby stack.. I will say that with the standard ZMF Ori lamskin pads I do prefer the 4XX's over my 6XX's on either set with most music.. With Jazz and Laid back music in general I go for the 6XX's- kejar31

I am leaning towards agreeing with you on the perf pads, although I will say the foam mod does seem to correct the bass. While the foam pad also increases the soundstage and the perf pads give a vary airy presentation I think the instrument separation is being effected by it in a negative way...- kejar31

Humm, swapped out the two ring foam setup for 1 foam ring in each pad.. I think this fixes the low mid bass issues without effecting anything else (besides a little less bass on the bottom end as well but this was a minimal change)- kejar31

I wouldnt call the lower mids diminished its more like they are bumped up a bit (along with the bass) its not bad or anything I just feel like that bottom half of the feq has a hump of sorts. I am still on the fence as to which pads I prefer as the perf pads plus foam mod gives a good amount of...- kejar31

So I received the perforated pads today I have to say, at first blush with the foam mod... I really like it. Over the grill + zmf non-perf pads it gives what seems to be a wider deeper sound-stage along with more bottom end... Not 100% sure about lower mids though, while they are not muddy they...- kejar31

I wouldn't worry much about it tbh... The regular lamskin pads are the tried a true tested an measured solituon and they sound great. The perf ones are just being tested...- kejar31

Went out to Hobby Lobby and was able to find the exact foam you were using. Was pretty easy to work with and I was able to make my cutouts without much trouble... Unfortunately I did not like what it did to the sound signature.. Seems to bump the bass up for sure but is also does something to...- kejar31

Grado modders go Magnum
My Pad preferences for the V7’s Obviously, preferences would change with different drivers... but with the latest Magnum’s these are my personal preferences after testing all the pads side by side Grado Flats vs Sen 414s The 414 pads are much much more comfortable no real noticeable...- kejar31

I also picked up some official Grado G-Cush pads.. These were more different than the Ear Zonk’s than that I had originally thought they would be. The acoustic foam used is pretty different. The Grado’s are a much softer foam with a resin is used to harden both the front and back. While the...- kejar31

I personally think you would want a solid fit.. Granted, one that can still be removed.. The benefits from the wood, if there are any, doesn't come from the driver rattling in the enclosure..- kejar31

For fun I went head and ordered three extra sets of pads for my Symphone V7's.. Should have access to official L-CUSH and flat pads from Grado.. Then the EarZonk G-CUSH and leatherette... lastly I will also be getting and testing with the Sen 414 pads... Will post my observations if anyone is...- kejar31
