Wanted to try out tubes and get a bit more power to the Alpha Dogs. Bass seems thumpier from the first 30 mins of listening. Soundstage is wider as well. First impressions though. Pot is located the same place as the Asgard 2 both in high gain.  

My schiit just came too. replacing the Asgard 2 for my Alpha Dogs. 

Got home late but managed to snap at least one pic, I'll get better pics when its daytime. Paint looks great and they sound even better. Will a Lyr make them sound that much better than the AS2?

Yeah they're so shiny its hard to get a good pic of the sparkle on my nexus 5. I'll take some better pics with my real camera when i get home.

Yup! in The SF/Bay area.

if you use the DAC portion with the USB cable provided (micro USB from the Fiio e18 to the micro USB to the GS3) there is no danger of double amping since you are technically bypassing the GS3's headphone port and only using the one on the E18. And yes it sounds much better than the built in DAC...

Been following the Fiio E18 but came across this and the form factor is so much more friendly for my train commute. That price though! I guess that apple license is pretty expensive... 

It's probably a ground loop. Same noise I was getting with the a2. Fixed mine using a hum-x. Test using a cheater plug. Apparently it's really common with laptop charger setups as I found quite a bit of videos http://youtu.be/jSA2F1AwboU

Oh this is exciting! Glad I waited instead if getting a e17. Would the otg micro cable come with the e18?
