    Grado modders go Magnum

I have a Sr325is and i like it a lot so i decided to make my own a magnum hoping that it will be an improvement over the sr325is so i bought v6 driver and a custom wood cup for 40-44mm without knowing it will fit or not. So finally i received the cup, it was made both from aluminum and wood, the...

FiiO K1--smaller and better for less

So you mean if two amp have the same frequency respond, they will sound the same? According to measurement of Tyll http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/AllAmpGraphs.pdf every amp have identical frequency respond, except some have minor roll off at 20hz cause by the input capacitor, which is...

FiiO K1--smaller and better for less

Flat frequency respond doens't mean neutral sound, most of the portable amp will measure as flat but each one has it own sound signature.

EHHA Rev A - Interest Thread

I use a 9V 2A transformer and the regulator is heatsinked well so that's not the problem. I wonder what will happen if the triode a not balance, can it make that noise? I don't have 6GM8 or 6n27p so i can only use 6h6n now.

EHHA Rev A - Interest Thread

No, it's not 60 or 120hz hump, it's like some one playing sine wave at some where between 4k-6khz. What do i need to compensate for higher heater current tube? My tube sound fine in another amp so the problem must come from the EHHA.  I currently haven't cased it up so i can't do the ground loop...

Project Sunrise/PS2 Tube Rolling Thread (and maybe even Project Horizon and Project Ember)

I think the number on it is 76 so it was made in 1976? The 6n27p is well regarded as a great tube using with the EHHA which run tube at plate voltage at about 28V, itt must work great in Sunrise.

    building an active balanced ground?

You're right. I dont' have TLE2426 so i made a simple divider by 2 resistor and the distortion's gone but now i got about 90mv dc offset, it sound very good but i'm not sure if it's better than the regular 2 or 3 channel . Thanks for your very informative topic :D

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

I think why the superlux 681 is really special is because of its sound signature that you will hardly find in other headphones. Closed headphones tend to have more bass and sub-bass, they sound more fun but have the disadvantage of closed design: soundstage is close in, less airy and sound less...

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

That's just your opinion, i see many more people prefer the 681 to 681B, in my country, the superlux 681 is 40$, 681B is 28$ but the 681B is not selling very well, people like the 681 better and some of my friend even order from amazon to get the 681as backup when it was discontinue in my...

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

The housing, the damping material, driver ... can lead to very different sound. The 681B, 681F and 681 although share the same housing and driver but have slightly different sound because they have different way of damping inside the driver ( i believe so)

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

I think the headband is exactly the same but the cup, pads is quite different and the color make the 580 look much uglier and cheaper (although the 681 is already look cheap)

I don't have the HD330 but the HD660 which is basicly the closed version of the HD330 and according to headfonia has somewhat more control sound. Compare to HD681(both EVO and red), the HD660 got nothing better except mid range, if you like sweet, foward mid range go for HD330, otherwise, HD681...

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

Yes, they are. Here is the FR of the three measured by Superlux   When bass level is lower, the perception of other frequency is also affected, you can hear mid, high more clear so you think it's more detail, soundstage seem to be more open. Lower bass also make it tighter, faster, that's...

My subjective opinion on "2 channel vs 3 channel"

I was always wondering is 3 channel design really superior to 2 channel design? I tried to find topic in head-fi about 2 channel vs 3 channel and although i don't know much about technical subject, i think 2 channel is seem to be better in an objective view. I was wondering why there are only...

    [Review] Superlux HD681 EVO

Off cource mine do, i even recable and do every mod that i can find and think of. I assume that you haven not listened to the EVO so you won't know how different between these two. HD681 have extremely large soundstage but the depth is just so so, it sounds really 2d, there's not much depth to...
