I'm using the Ibasso D2 BOA and still a very happy owner.... Lots of dynamics and punch without the muddiness and good vocals.

I've got the Earmax Silver Edition and it was a great combo with the Audiotechnica series like W1000, W5000 or AD1000 / AD2000. It also have good synergy with the Sennheiser 595/600/650. It didn't sounded too fantastic with most grado in my opinion as it sounded very lean and lack soundstage.

I felt that foamies are still the best. Try the Shure Black Olives, at least they don't look so gross after some time.

My Earmax tube didn't have very good synergy with the 701... in fact it wasn't able to drive it well enough. But it handled the HD-650 at 300ohms perfect. STRANGE, isn't it?

You can also try the Westone UM2 for it's comfort. You could even sleep with the UM-2 on. It just fits in your ears FLAT.

Both earphones sound totally diff. I'll suggest u to try them out before buying. Ety6i flat on bass better good on vocals, especially on the highs and mids. Shure SCL2 more dynamic but muddy on the bass with coloured recess vocals.

The EARMAX Silver Edition have a fantastic synergy with the W5000. You should check it out.

You can also try the value for money Creative EP-630. Just be careful for fakes.

Definitely better if u already like the characteristic of UM-1. With 2 drivers, it gives u a more fuller sound with btter bass extension and control.

You can also buy amps from S'pore or counrties running on similar voltage.
