DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
Does anyone have any ideas for threading 28awg wire through Type 1 (1.85mm) paracord? I was planning on making an IEM cable, but threading the wire through the paracord is proving to be more difficult than expected. I thought I'd be able to just super-glue the central cord to the wire, and as I...- dirkpitt45

Cosmic Ears - new CIEM company with great prices (including Hybrid designs!)
^ I'd like to know if they still offer the micros as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on the BA3 compared to the Alclair reference? They're the same price, but Alclair is in NA so shipping would be quicker.- dirkpitt45

Keyboard-Fi
I just got a ducky shine with reds and I love it. Really a pretty big step up from the logitech illuminated I've been using for the past three years. Does anyone know if there's a shortcut to permanently enable the FN key? I know on most laptops there's a combination of ctrl+fn+alt or numlock...- dirkpitt45

The Official Dota 2 Thread
I've been in the beta for a while now. Wanted to like it, but I just can't seem to get into dota2 at all. Probably 200ish games of DOTA2 played now. I've got about 2k games played on LoL, been playing that since beta as well. LoL is basically my favourite online game so I may be a bit biased...- dirkpitt45

Dare I say Caring is Sharing
Quote: You think, not know. Of course you can never be 100% sure about something, but some things are well within reason. I would encourage you to read up on geothermal heatpumps and the theories behind the inner workings of the Earth since you seem to have interest in both. Geothermal...- dirkpitt45

Any anime series that you've been enjoying?
I just finished up Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and it was great. One of my favourites now. I've also been watching Guilty Crown on and off, I'm a few episodes behind now though. Sometimes it great, other times it's really meh.- dirkpitt45

Android-fi!
My touchpad randomly died last week. Tried everything and nothing would wake the thing up. Still under warranty at least, so HP's sending me a new one.- dirkpitt45

Android-fi!
Quote: Flashing a new rom is totally worth it. I've got the captivate, and my battery life almost doubled when I switched to Darky's mod from the stock gingerbread. Never went back to stock, running ICS now and haven't run into any serious bugs yet.- dirkpitt45

Audio-GD NFB-12
Does anyone know specifically which drivers the NFB-12 uses? On windows7. I've had nothing but trouble with it on my desktop lately. It'll randomly stop playing, then not start again till I switch USB ports and the drivers start running again. It also won't work right away when I turn on my...- dirkpitt45

Sennheiser Twins Help!
I've got both at the moment still trying to decide which one I like more. I'm pretty sure my HD600 is the older "darker" version though, since it doesn't have the silverish foam like the HD650s. I don't listen to much classical, just the occasional song now and then that pops up in my...- dirkpitt45

Samsung Galaxy S Thread
If my captivate wasn't on a network I wouldn't carry it around at all. It's big and the battery life is laughable compared to dedicated pmps. The zune hd is a fantastic device, only reason I don't carry it around is because of my captivate though. But for 100$ you can't really go wrong...- dirkpitt45

The unofficial Skyrim thread.
Completely agree with Beamthegreat; the graphics are horrible imo. Compared to The Witcher 2, which is similar in style to Skyrim, it looks like they're a generation apart. The animations are awkward, people float around a lot Haven't really done much in game yet, been playing around with...- dirkpitt45

Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]
The v5rt writes closer to .5 than .3. The ink bleeds out, if you move the tip really fast it stays thin, but at a normal writing pace it bleeds and widens the line considerably. That being said, they're the best pens I've used so far. I ordered a lamy safari with an extra fine nib, off...- dirkpitt45

Any anime series that you've been enjoying?
Canada and the USA are similar to the point of everyone living on the same continent and having somewhat similar culture due to proximity. I've spent a fair amount of time in the states and it's rather easy to pick up the differences in people and towns/cities. Plus the government and majority...- dirkpitt45

Rate the video games you're currently playing
Played Rage for about 30 minutes and was bored the entire time. Though the 40 minutes of tinkering with drivers and settings prior, and the constant screen tearing and texture popping didn't make it that enjoyable to begin with.- dirkpitt45

Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]
Any suggestions for something a bit higher end than the Pilot hi-techpoint v5rt I'm currently using? I love how it writes, but the ink is a bit sloppy almost. It seems to let too much out, and it's hard to write down thin lines. I use a rotring 600 .35mm pencil for most of my work, but lately...- dirkpitt45

Any anime series that you've been enjoying?
Finished Gundam Wing. It was meh, really repetitive and the ending was rather anti-climatic. Started watching 00 now and so far I'm enjoying it much more. Only on the third episode though.- dirkpitt45

Any Thoughts on the Windows 8 Developer Preview?
Been running it on my laptop for the last while. It's nice looking, boots fast, and works with pretty much every win7 program I've installed. The start button takes some getting used to, I had to google how to turn it off when I first installed it >.< For some reason multi-touch doesn't...- dirkpitt45

BF3 is off the HOOK!
Other than then the ridiculous sniper scope glare and occasional glitchyness the gameplay is pretty solid. The UI on the other hand... Is possibly the worst thing in existence. Haven't played much though, have to finish a lab report too >.<- dirkpitt45
