Focal Clear headphones
Anyone toggle back and forth with a planar headphone? Last night I dug up my old hifiman he 400. The overall warmth was a lot of fun. Makes me wonder if the crystal clear headphones are a little over rated.- Ekul61

Focal Clear headphones
Yes , I agree somewhat. Clears great but the overal fun warmth sound is a little thin. I would love to try the hex v2 as I’m a big hifiman fan.- Ekul61

Focal Utopia General Discussion
People that spend large sums of cash on headphone equipment are always chasing the “ receiver amp floor speaker quality sound”. Unfortunately this level of sound is not achievable with a speaker 1” away from the ear.- Ekul61

Anyone know the difference between the 800S and Focal Clear? I have the Clears and at times wish the stage was larger.- Ekul61

Focal Clear headphones
Yes they seem very neutral. Planar magnetic can add a overal warmth that the Clears don’t have. Which can be more enjoyable sometimes. This warmth has a tendency to reduce fine details.- Ekul61

Flac on DBPoweramp
I’m sure we all don’t mind a skip or some fuzz now and them. Most of my rips are from average condition cds. Just curious if besides an occational skip. If the overall sound quality, when listened through higher end gear is different. When dbpower amp is compared to wmp.- Ekul61

Flac on DBPoweramp
Thx interesting web site. The site claims wmp can’t rip flac. Mine does. Everyone recommends EAC . EAC is so complicated to set up. I’m not sure why anyone would want it.- Ekul61

Is the distortion in both? Try a different headphone. Try a different source. My issue was with only one side crackling.- Ekul61

Also Clears definitely aren’t perfect. What I found was the Clears have less flaws than most. Price, cables, case, sound are hard to beat.- Ekul61

Focal Clear headphones
Correct me if I’m wrong. Aeon open is a planar magnetic headphone. Focal Clear is a dynamic driver headphone. It always boils down to. Better clarity with a dynamic driver Compared to amazing bass from a planar magnetic. Seems like all the reviews on dynamic hp say. Great hp just needs a little...- Ekul61
