    Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software

I think this also depends on the headphones, how heavy-handed the eq needs to be to push towards reference and how much distortion that may introduce. Some headphones can EQ better than others (usually if it's very low distortion or neutral-ish to begin with, allows a lot more headroom or less...

    Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software

lol they're supposed to sound more or less the same when using reference 4, since it's supposed to bring them closer to reference frequency response. This is useful as a tool to have consistency when mixing/mastering. As for listening pleasure, True-fi had some bass/treble controls for flavor...

    Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software

It's the route most tech/app-based pricing is going to have recurring revenue vs one time; many web-apps are already this way. Even Roon is similar if you don't purchase their lifetime membership. As for SoundID, if you purchased True-fi before, I believe you also get a lifetime subscription to...

Reference 4 does go on sale occasionally. It was just on sale recently actually.

    Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software

For Reference 4, profiles are released less often. It’s more often for their consumer product (used to be True-fi, but recently launched SoundID) which is similar but allows personalized preference on the sound. The individual calibration would have a higher accuracy than an averaged one, so if...

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

The cooling gel pads are less stiff than the memory foam ones, and direct replacement. The Brainwavz would not be plug and play. However, I wish I could replace the headband pad with the cooling gel since it's stiff until fully warm.

Teac UD 503 DAC (2015 New Release, DXD, DSD256)

However, the hd650 he tested it on is fairly high already. Plus wouldn't OI more so affect the frequency response versus volume/power?

Yes, using the balanced out for highest potential performance. I wish they had more specs around this.

Teac UD 503 DAC (2015 New Release, DXD, DSD256)

It gets loud per se, but not as engaging as on my more efficient he-400S. It even gets "loud" on my sabaj da3 mini dac/amp, but without much bass or dynamics. Also, I'm just curious how it will sound on more powerful or different amps to see if it makes much difference. I hear the hd800 is...

Teac UD 503 DAC (2015 New Release, DXD, DSD256)

I don't have the 789 yet as it's delivering in august/september. I do have the loxjie p20, which puts out over 300mw at 300ohm. I have hd800's, which are 300ohm cans. Not sure how much power the UD-503 is putting out in that ohm range, but if it's 750mw per channel at 32ohm, I would think it's...

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

Actually, my AirPods are connected to my ATV 4 (the standard 1080p one); I have both the 4k and standard but can verify it works on the standard. Tried with glasses on and glad to say it works well. Reminds me of memory foam mattresses or pillows, where it just starts slowly sinking into the...

Audeze Mobius Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

The internal gel layer actually feels initially more firm than the originals (think gel/memory foam pillow versus down). Similarly, it eventually forms to your head and creates a better seal -- to the point that it creates a vacuum. If it were a dynamic driver IEM, it would probably be enough to...
