Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'Brainwavz Koel'

Brainwavz has been hard at work over the past year, having released the HM100 headphones, the BLU-300 Bluetooth earphones, and the Zeta budget earphones over the past 12 months. But we are reviewing none of those today – instead, we'll be taking a look at their latest release, the Koel. Priced...

Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'MEE Audio BTC1'

TL;DR: It’s not the best by any means, but the BTC1 ensures your M6 PRO will live on in a world without the headphone jack. Back in September of 2016, the iPhone 7 was revealed to the world. Along with it came an ominous declaration: "The headphone jack is dead." Since then, all iPhone audio...

Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'MEE Audio M6 Pro Generation 2'

The MEE Audio M6 has grown quite a bit over the years. It started out as an affordable, sport-oriented earphone dubbed the Sport-Fi M6, which was later retooled and released as the M6 PRO, marketed for performers and musicians. The success of the M6 PRO eventually led to the release of the M7...

    MEElectronics M6 PRO Musician's In-Ear Monitors

Working on one. From first impressions, they sound a lot better. Toned down the treble, smoothed the upper mids a bit, but retained the overall clarity of the whole sound. They fit a lot better too (at least to me -- the old ones were a bit tricky in the ears).

Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'Xiaomi Capsule'

Intro Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi has, since their inception, a proven track record of providing well-specced gadgets at very competitive prices. Though their earphone lineup is easily outclassed by many other brands both within and outside China, they still have a sizeable...

    Xiaomi Pistons 3.0 Impressions Thread

Well, sorry to disappoint, but that's exactly how the buttons look on the Xiaomi hybrid model: ^ Here's a comparison of the Hybrid (top, silver) and Piston 3 (bottom, bit more of a bluish silver) remote and jack.

Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'KZ ATE In-Ear Monitors'

Intro TL;DR: The KZ ATE sings loud and proud for such a cheap IEM. Despite that, they're one of the most aggressive sounding IEMs I've come across, for better or for worse. Chinese manufacturer KZ is to headphones what Oppo or Huawei means to cellphones – cheap, of a decent quality, and...

Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'Macaw T60'

Intro TL;DR: The Macaw T60 is not a particularly amazing IEM. That is, until you factor in the low, low price of $20, at which point it becomes one of the best bargain Bluetooth IEMs on the market. In many markets, there is no denying the significant presence of Chinese brands that compose...

Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD (2 +1 Hybrid)

Definitely perceivable during normal tests, since that was the first thing I noticed upon first listen. I did some tests with a tone generator to note the difference, and it made out to be around 5-7dB difference, so definitely noticeable.

Xiaomi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD (2 +1 Hybrid)

Finally got these after some skepticism because of the first hybrid. I have to say, they're much much better than I thought. However my pair seems to have a amnufacturing defect straight out of the box -- a channel imbalance on the left side. It seems the wiring of a driver in the left earpiece...

Xiaomi Hybrid IEM Thread (Piston successor)

From my experience I don't think you're "allergic" to the 2.1's metal per se; rather, the 2.1's laser-cut disc pattern may be the one scratching your ear. The Piston Hybrid uses a smooth metal for the exterior part of the housing, and plastic for the nozzle area that makes th emost contact with...

Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'Brainwavz BLU-Delta Bluetooth Earbud Wireless Noise Isolating Headphones'

Intro TL;DR: The Brainwavz BLU-Delta adds Bluetooth functionality to an already-excellent IEM, creating what I would say is a stroke of genius. Over the past years we’ve covered both of Brainwavz’ prime Bluetooth earphones – the BLU-100 and the BLU-200. Knowing this, Brainwavz gave me the...

Review by 'thatBeatsguy' on item 'Brainwavz Krudul Duo Earphone Storage Management System Hanger'

TL;DR: Though its price tag is a bit hard to justify, the Brainwavz Krudul Duo is a versatile earphone storage solution that you will want if you need one. Before I begin I would like to thank Pandora at Brainwavz for providing a review sample of the Brainwavz Krudul Duo. I am not directly...
