BEST BUDGET EARPHONES THREAD- Chi-fi, Obscure brands and impressions sharing+PERSONAL RANKING LIST
Amusingly the improvements in sound quality were a (very enjoyable) side effect of the primary reason I got my Audioengine D3 USB dongle. The sound in my previous laptop was actually pretty decent but as it got older it was having to work harder to keep up and I was getting CPU/GPU interference...- Veyska

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Alternate tunings and/or driver configs? More Pro versions of stuff? :p I'd kinda' like a multi-BA IEM to play around with but all KZ's stuff is the big semi-circle format and I've not had a chance to see how well that would fit (plus they're mostly BA spam with higher price tags)...- Veyska

BEST BUDGET EARPHONES THREAD- Chi-fi, Obscure brands and impressions sharing+PERSONAL RANKING LIST
1. I've got pretty sensitive hearing so I run volume down pretty low regardless of the environment, most of the handful of wireless earphones I've used recently (counting various IEMs on Bluetooth cables separately) have been set at ~20-40% volume and my desktop's sound is set to 10/100 with my...- Veyska

BEST BUDGET EARPHONES THREAD- Chi-fi, Obscure brands and impressions sharing+PERSONAL RANKING LIST
I want to like earbuds because my biggest dislike about IEMs is the isolation (outside of flying, at which point <3 my Bose QC30) and especially when I'm out walking I'd rather less isolation than more. Unfortunately while my ears have apparently grown/changed enough over the years that earbuds...- Veyska

"Mark forum(s) read", new vs. old
I know that's how that works, it just seemed like an awkward design choice (both the top button being "all" only and having to scroll up to mark the current forum) so I feedback-ed in the feedback forum. :-) If it stays as is I might muck around with using a browser add-on to hide it, but we...- Veyska

That's always been my metric for when it's actually freezing cold outside as opposed to merely cold.- Veyska

The only one I've mentioned in this thread, duh. :-P Sorry, had mentioned it in the first draft of the post but forgot to re-add it. The KB1. I'll go edit now.- Veyska

BQEYZ in-ear monitors Impressions Thread
Yay KB1 in mailbox. Man, this box is *tiny*. Cables look like they got a bit kinked from being packed, but they're mirror images of each other so maybe not. Stock/medium tips definitely got a bit squashed but no real loss because small fits better (and I'm probably gonna' mess around with...- Veyska

Didn't pop up when I searched for it (was on phone at the time though, so YMMV), but hey look a link - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000419858364.html ***** Edit - They should have had a jade color too, IMO. :-p- Veyska

Because the C10 is an awesome IEM, that's why. :-P Not crazy detailed, not crazy bass or treble or what not, just generally good and satisfying. ^-^ If I had to winnow my small-but-slowly-growing IEM collection that would be one of the very last ones to go...- Veyska

I am in love with my HD700, but man I wish I could make it to one of the get-togethers to listen to some other headphones... With the exceptions of my Bose non-ANC earphones and the HD558 everything audio I've got I bought blind and that rather limits how adventuresome I feel about...- Veyska

The IE 40 Pro is the main reason why I'm not willing to spend terribly much on any more IEMs unless it's scratching a specific itch (like the Audiosense T180) rather than an "ooh shiny" impulse buy. Sheer dumb luck I happened to check the sales forum when someone had only just posted a...- Veyska

I think I'm gonna' pick up the BQEYZ KB1 because it's the cheapest BQEYZ and I've been curious for a while now but I keep changing my mind on what else I might want to pick up. Half-tempted to just get the KB1 and the AK Audio gamble bag just to see what the heck I get, though with my luck it'd...- Veyska

They're a bit buried, but I don't really remember Tennmak Pro being particularly isolating. Audiosense T180's pretty good though, both in sound and isolation.- Veyska

Hm. I might also be tempted, depending on what sales do to its pricing (all my niches are quite satisfactorily filled so unless it's something I've fallen in love with in-person I'm inclined to be parsimonious for curiosity's sake). And while their aesthetic's not what I'd pick given my...- Veyska

Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread
I didn't experiment with sources, just plugged 'em into the dedicated DAC/amp sound card* and no complaints here. Entirely possible they'd sound better with a different source but 1) I'm quite happy with them currently and 2) if so, that'll be a pleasant surprise at some point down the line so...- Veyska

BEST BUDGET EARPHONES THREAD- Chi-fi, Obscure brands and impressions sharing+PERSONAL RANKING LIST
I really should dredge up my KZ ZS3E so I can venture a more reliable opinion on whether it or my Audiosense T180 isolates better. Regardless, unless I were just shopping for a super budget isolating pair were I to shop for such a pair now I'd pick the T180 because it (IMO) sounds better. Less...- Veyska

Why do I keep eyeing the KZ E10 when I know I'm not wild about the behind-the-ears-hook form factor of my BT20? >-> (Anyone wanna' trade a .75 2-pin TRN Bluetooth cable module for my .75 2-pin BT20? :-P Barely used, works great! Basically any of the four sorts will do, they all have AptX...- Veyska

... Huh. I *was* going to link the eBay listing I got my dampers from since it was the same vendor (AFAIK) as AE but with free S&H... except it has S&H now. (Might as well link it anyhow since I had the page up, just in case eBay is preferable for some reason.)- Veyska

Arg. Finally got a chance to take a nice walk outdoors today (between schedule, new kitten, and annoyingly warm weather...) to see how the T180+BT3S combo works and while it sounds *wonderful* and the minor Bluetooth hiss is basically unnoticeable outdoors the T180 isolate way more than I like...- Veyska

I'm seriously considering picking up the Semkarch (for my theory that the TRN BT3S cable likes higher resistance IEMs) and that 3rd-party filter that's s'posed to dampen the bass down some, but I really want to take a walk with the T180 on my BT3S cable and see how noticeable the hiss really is...- Veyska
