Review by 'rev92' on item 'Eletech Inferno'
Introduction Reviewing cables is always fun and exciting…will I get attacked by people that don’t believe that a cable can make a difference? Will it be called snake oil? Will the world end up covered with fire and nuclear winter arise? Jokes aside, I know that a lot of people will never even...- rev92

@dsrk thank you haha! :) If you'll get the EF400, just use the balanced output, not too expensive to get a balanced cable and it's always worth it ;)- rev92

Review by 'rev92' on item 'HIFIMAN EF400'
Introduction Every single time I write a review of Hifiman’s product, the introduction paragraph is getting harder and harder to write. How many times can I point out that this is the nr.1 manufacturer in the world when it comes to headphones. They do offer arguably the best value models in...- rev92

Reply to review by 'rev92' on item 'HEDD HEDDphone'
Thank you @mendye770 ! :) I don't have the Clear, it was a borrowed one, but I know it well. Comfort is definitely better in Clear, also, it sounds more "ordinary" which could be a good or bad thing depending on the subjective taste. The HEDD is more detailed and has that lovely timbre, where...- rev92

@Jarlaxle Hi mate, thank you! Glad we have similar observations! As for the DAC, this is what I've heard by Andy. Maybe we should address it in the thread to see his opinion on the balance thing? :)- rev92

Review by 'rev92' on item 'Yulong DA-ART Aurora'
The Aurora is the newest DAC/Amp combo by a Chinese manufacturer Yulong. It's designed around the latest ESS ES9068AS chip, also offering a Class-A headphone amplifier. It's priced at $520. Introduction Founded in 2009, Yulong has been manufacturing audio devices for 13 years now. They mainly...- rev92

@Sphere 57 I had a hard time deciding whether to call it a dongle or a DAC/Amp, does the lack of battery make it not a dongle? Don't know the terms of naming it :D- rev92

Review by 'rev92' on item 'FiR Audio Xenon 6 (Custom)'
Introduction Fir Audio is still a rather new company compared to the ancient ones like Noble or 64 Audio, but they certainly need no introduction. With their vastly popular M series, as well as their highly praised VxV model they made a name for themselves as one of the top players in the...- rev92

Review by 'rev92' on item 'EarMen Colibri'
Introduction I’m going to start this review with a fun fact – We’ve reviewed three EarMen products so far, and ALL OF THEM have won Ear Fidelity awards. The latest one, a DAC called Tradutto hasn’t been moved from my desk ever since I got it in November 2021, and that’s really something. So...- rev92

Review by 'rev92' on item 'Unique Melody MEXT--A Unique Taste of Bone Conduction'
Introduction Unique Melody needs no introduction for anybody who is into the IEM market. It is one of the most influential companies in the game. In 2020 they came up with their hugely successful MEST, our “Best IEM of 2021”, and my personal favorite IEM to date. With its revolutionary bone...- rev92

Reply to review by 'rev92' on item 'Cayin N8ii'
@Gymboy I partially agree. Yeah, my Susvara or the HEDDphone sounded lifeless on the N8ii, but the Elite, HE1000se are both exceptional headphones and they sound superb on the N8ii. But yeah, if anyone wants to use the N8ii with full-size headphones, he should go for something that is pretty...- rev92

Review by 'rev92' on item 'Lypertek Z5'
Introduction Lypertek Z7 left a great impression as something catered towards more experienced users, audiophiles let’s call them. Z5 on the other hand seems to be made for people who want to enjoy ANC without much drop in quality from the bigger brother. They are smaller, lighter but provide...- rev92

@scottm18 Honestly, both are great devices in my opinion, but yeah, the N8ii will be more nuanced, more natural and mature sounding, especially if you like vintage stuff. I'd go with N8ii personally ;)- rev92

Review by 'rev92' on item 'Cayin N8ii'
Introduction Let me start this review by saying something: DAPs are quite interesting in the current audio market. They surely feel somewhat like relics of the past, something that is not functional enough to be perceived as “attractive” in 2022. See, everybody has a smartphone nowadays...- rev92
