The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Just to add: Qobuz is Android 6 and up Amazon Music is Android 5 and up. The sore spot right now is Android 5, like my A&K SR15 and FiiO X7ii.- rlw6534

Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
I'm using jdsp_v4.4.zip and Audio-Modification-Library_v4.1.zip from here: https://zackptg5.com/android.php I'm pretty sure these are the latest. I did need AML for it to work. Nothing else installed. I could not get Viper to process, but I prefer JamesDSP anyway for the high-res support...- rlw6534

Shanling M3X Portable Player - Our smallest Android Player
Nah, I'm not an Android dev. I just have a fair amount of experience with rooting (and jailbreaking) from the beginning years ago and I try to keep up. I'm not sure the M3X passed Safetynet even before rooting. Did you check with YASNAC previously? Safetynet (and L1 widevine) don't seem to a...- rlw6534

Unfortunately, I know more about rooting, jailbreaking, etc than I know about audio, but I'm trying to learn (now that I'm retired and have more time). Old man, new tricks and all.- rlw6534

The Qudelix-5K thread
Totally agree except for the 48 kHz limitation, which is true for some devices (especially older ones) but not all, not anymore. Recent versions of android have support for 24/192 built-in, if the hardware is there. Reference: https://source.android.com/devices/audio/highres-effects- rlw6534

You should be able to use the "Boot Apps" app to start the alternate launcher at boot without disabling anything. You may still have to set as default though?- rlw6534

The Qudelix-5K thread
As I said above, the Amazon Music app (on Android) always plays at 192kHz on capable hardware, even for lower bitrate tracks. This is easily confirmed by bitrate displays and by looking at logcat. For bluetooth, it is resampled as needed depending on the codec in use. I doubt that Amazon...- rlw6534

The Qudelix-5K thread
On my DAPs and DACs, Amazon music always plays at 192 kHz, regardless of source quality. I assume that the app is resampling internally.- rlw6534

NEW SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
Quick question. Did Sony add DLNA/UPNP or SMB capability to the new Walkmans? I realize that I can use other apps such as UAPP, but would prefer to use the Sony Music app to stream from my network.- rlw6534

This seems to support SMB1 only. Is that correct or am I doing something wrong? I don't really want to enable SMB 1 on my network due to massive, well known security issues.- rlw6534
