    Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd Generation)

That is true about the Tesla headphones having warm lower mids, but that's what I love about the T1.3. Oh okay so they're more akin to the rapid reflex line but less trebly. I'll probably like them quite a bit as my main problem with the rapid reflex drivers was related to the treble. Oh okay...

    Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd Generation)

Does the Pro-X lack the Beyer sound or do they still come across as a Beyer sonically despite the new tuning? Not talking just FR response but also the subtleties of their sound. While some headphones from the same brand can have very different FR response they still have traits where you can...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

While better systems help this, the HD 660 S does have problems with dynamic range especially in the bass frequencies imho; this was something I noticed compared to some other headphones I’ve owned. It could be somewhat underpowered too or simply bad synergy considering the weird upper...

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

The Amiron Home actually sounds a lot like the T1 Gen 2. The T1 Gen 3 is a different animal but if you don't like warm and dark headphones, there is good chance it's not for you despite the Gen 3 being the most resolving of the Tesla Beyers.

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

That is how I felt about them too, the DT 1990 is on the dry side whereas the Amiron Home is on the wet side. The T1 Gen 2 is a bit wet and the T1 Gen 3 is slightly dry. The T5 Gen 3 is on wet side based on my short listening.

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

The mids and treble are also palpable on the T1.3 (very noticeable if pads and damping is changed around), the entire spectrum is palpable it’s just it’s most noticeable in the lower frequencies due to their low-frequency focus. Most other headphones I've owned feel incomplete due to this lack...

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

I personally found the stock T1 cable to be good, I tend to swap between it and my aftermarket cable every so often as it creates a different experience. Haven't concluded which I like more overall, the aftermarket cable brings out more dynamics but the stock cable sounds more natural to my ears.

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

Yeah that is true, it's surprising how few headphones do that but I have found Beyer has always been good at having physicality to their sound, a big reason I enjoy Beyers. And none do it quite like the T1.3 especially in the bass frequencies, I've experienced on numerous occasions feeling and...

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)

While not a new headphone, I did change the pads on my A990Z to geekria velour pads ($18) and honestly this changed them for the better, they gained a much more neutral and natural sound signature (it reined in the treble and the bass is better under control now but still solid and strong), they...

    Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless

The headphone already has a cover that is separate from the pads so no need to worry about debris. My experience the mesh can sometimes have a slight impact on the sound depending on the headphone. I personally would only consider removing the mesh on something like the T1 or the T5 due to their...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Haven’t heard the new midtier Beyers but it seems they toned down the treble but not sure about other aspects of their sound. New Beyer flagships are warm, dark, and non-fatiguing. The new T5 is the least fatiguing headphone I’ve ever heard. The new T1 is warmth incarnate.

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

The timbre of the DT 1990 and other newer Tesla's are more natural than the DT 880, etc. While the DT 1990 has some brightness to it, it is definitely better in terms of timbre and tone than the DT 880, DT 990, etc. imho.

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

Well honestly the headphone market has changed a lot over time too, but a lot of businesses make strange decisions that don't make a lot of sense to the average consumer and maybe to other businesses. I'm personally quite diverse in what type of headphones I like. I don't dislike bassy...

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

The DT 150 is also a departure from the traditional Beyer sound. Never found the bass on the T1.3 muddy, but rather heavy and thick yet very articulate and detailed I found most other headphones sound ill-defined in the bass in comparison. I think the bass is the T1.3's forte given you are able...

New Beyerdynamic Pro X line: DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X

Perception of space, soundstage, imaging, etc. can vary a lot due to numerous factors. One of these is physiological differences (ear/ear canal shape, sensitivities to frequencies, etc.). Another is system synergy. I found perceptions and impressions of imaging, sense of space, soundstage, etc...

    Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd Generation)

Earlier made T1/T5’s have the case of the T1.2. Which is a black velour material. My T1.3 and T1.2 had the same black velour case with different plaques. Newer ones have a more denim look to them.

    Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd Generation)

Have you tried contacting their US repair service? If you ever have warranty/non-warranty repairs, parts, etc. these are the people to contact. Not sure if the they’ll have the pads though. I’m seeing pads on the T5.3 listed there but not the T1.3 but they may have some if you contact them...

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread

That is what I liked about them too, they have a nice tactility and texture to them. I always thought they had excellent drivers. This tactility is consistent across systems too. Few drivers seems to inherently have a similar level of tactility across systems. I’ve come across others that do...

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

Interestingly I found warm leaning systems actually often go well with warm headphones. Sometimes double dipping on the warmth works better than using a brighter or a leaner system on a warm headphone. Interestingly I found the T1.3 works nicely with many warmer systems. Synergy can be a weird...

Same, these are the one headphone I won't get rid of, I'll sell everything else off before letting go of these, they're the only ones that sound "correct" to me anymore.

The Closed-Back Headphone Thread (Plus Comparisons & Reviews)

The new T1 and T5 are not for everyone. They both have distinct sound signatures and aren't everyone's cup of tea. I personally love both stock, but what I noticed is many either love or hate them.

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

That's interesting but wouldn't be surprised they may of changed the pads. It happened to the DT 1990 so not surprised it happened with the T1.3. I have a very early T1.3 with a serial number of 100004 and it also has a very strong clamp (which eased some after a lot of use), I tried a newer one...
