Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
Yes, a second hand Chord Mojo 1. Just got one. While it might not be quite as good as the mk2 it's still a damn good piece of kit.- Zephead

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
Had some HE400i for about 2.5 years, just got Sundara. Worth every penny. They're so much tighter and better defined that the HE400i which I now realise is a little on the soft side. Imaging and seperation are definitely better although soundstage is about the same. This is just what my ears...- Zephead

Sky Audio Cables
I've currently got 3 cables from Sky Audio and love them all. 3.5mm to 2 x 2.5mm for HE400i, Angled 3.5mm to angled 3.5mm for my Fostex (Socket is under my desk so angled works there as well) and angled 3.5mm to straight 3.5mm used with Philips SHP9500 and when I get the mod done, they'll work...- Zephead

DAC + AMP + SPLITTER HELP
Yes. But to be fair, the Caiman Seg is not strictly a typical Dac as in it doesn't use a standard dac chip and has separate Left and Right power, signal, and ground wiring which improves seperation and soundstage so it may well be that it's the implementation that makes it superior but I think...- Zephead

DAC + AMP + SPLITTER HELP
I know this is an older thread but I have to comment on this. I just switched between a Fiio E10, Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS, and Beresford Caiman Seg. So that's a £60 dac, to a £100 dac to a £190 dac. The Fiio was OK, the DacMagic was a little better but you had to listen close. The Beresford...- Zephead

HD598 or SHP9500?
Philips with 3d printed pad holders and Shure SRH1540 pads. I'm not a huge fan of Sennheiser treble so the 9500's with those mods win hands down for me but my modified T50RP with Shure pads beats both. .- Zephead

Philips SHP9500 Discussion Thread
I have had these earpad adapters for a while https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2302855 and was using Shure 940 pads. Recently I was sat looking at my Fostex T50RP with Shure 1540 pads and decided to try them. After 30 minutes of listening I ordered some for the SHP9500. These are now my daily...- Zephead

SMSL Sanskrit 24bit 192kHz USB DAC
I've upgraded to a Beresford Caiman Seg Dac but the SMSL is going on my Hifi downstairs as I don't use the Hifi as often as I do the headphone setup upstairs but it will be a good upgrade from the Fiio Taishan I'm currently running downstairs.- Zephead

What's your favorite Fostex T50rp mod?
Mine. Basically a home made Mayflower Mk1 mod without the stiff felt on the back of the driver and using the best materials I could find in the UK. Now I understand the way people talk about the T50RP. (Mine are Mk3's)- Zephead

SMSL Sanskrit 24bit 192kHz USB DAC
I just received an ifi iPower 9V power supply to power my Sanskrit 6th. Definite difference and given the measurements I've seen, smoother than a linear power supply. Instrument separation is very definitely better especially on busy tracks, bass is a little cleaner and the soundstage depth is...- Zephead

The Opamp thread
After some time with the OPA2228 in my SMSL SAP ii Pro I've now switched to an AD823 and finding that about as good as I've found (tried OPA2604 (stock) OPA2107, OPA2227, LM4562, NE5532 and a couple of others that just didn't suit the application). I was still listening to the amp more than the...- Zephead

The Opamp thread
Sounds like the Magni will be great with my HE400i then (picked a pair up for £180 when the Sundara came out). Also gives me headroom for a future purchase of T50RPs. I like tinkering so a pair is almost definitely a future purchase.- Zephead

The Opamp thread
Just been playing with swapping opamps on my SMSL sap ll Pro. Standard is OPA2604. OPA2107, too bright, lacking bass. LM4562, doesn't work with this amp, low, dodgy sounding output. LT1364, no output at all OPA2227, no better than the OPA2604 OPA2228 - this is the one! Bass as good as the...- Zephead
