Forks,Knives,Etc---A bit of Humor I hope!

Recently my wife inherited a set of fine goldplated silverware from an Aunt. The stuff is about 80 years old and worth a bunch of cash, but my wife doesn't want to sell it. Too bad, because some of the money could have be spent on a nice pair of biwire Transparent cables, MIT's, etc. I wanted...

When did our listening reference point change?

To be sure, this whole discussion is subjective so I guess my point is only applicable to "ears that listen to traditional musical instruments and voice".......though one could argue even at a kiss concert, the acoustic impact during the live event is much different than that produced on a Kiss...

When did our listening reference point change?

Great Point Setmenu.....sooner or later though, something acoustic should be used in part of the total evaluation process, don't you think? Otherwise, the best reproduction of electronically derived music would be a computer correct? thanks for the input.

When did our listening reference point change?

Having just past that mile stone age of "50", I've become old enough to know something, but too young to be called WISE, or to have WISDOM. Yet, I wax philosophical way too much now. None- the-less, I ask this group of enthusiasts and audiophiles to help me. 30 years ago I became an...

Count me in if you have it beginning or end of week. I travel alot....locations sound okay, Van L is an interesting place and haven't been there in a few years. The manager was chain smoker and the whole place reeked of smoke big time. If its the same, you'll have to launder your clothes after...

    Amsterdam!

Amsterdam was quite interesting, but Mayonaise on French Fries??....ugh! Paris is very interesting...I have made 35 trips in the past ten years as I work for a French company. Forget what you've heard, people in France are quite nice and most do like Americans. Just don't expect them all to...

Successful Flght to France with Cans,Amp, and PCDP

I think you are giving the interior designers of aircraft way too much credit. When American Motors went out of business, they all went to work for the airline industry...no chance they though out the audio control panel designs.

Successful Flght to France with Cans,Amp, and PCDP

I just return from a trip to France and was very relieved to find that the airport security has pitty on we earoaerophile's. I was somewhat reluctant to bring my Sony PCDP721,7605 cans, and Porta Corda amp, but the head of the security at O'Hare in the United terminal was familair with such...

Is the USA really a Democracy??

Yes, of course it is in a totalitarian kind of way! Actually, we are a republic, not a democracy...just a technicality..."And to the republic, for which it stands"!
