    The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread

I, see, so "Premium" is simply what they called the 600 Ohm version in the past? Because it doesn't like they do that anymore and instead they either call them "Edition" or "Pro", no matter the Ohm. Yeah, I know about the Pros having the coiled cable and more clamping force which is why I chose...

More comfortable/lighter open-back alternatives for the Philips Fidelio X2HR

It's so frustrating, but my ears hurt too much from touching the drivers of the AKG 712, so I'll probably have to return them as well. Wish the ear pads were deeper. I did some reading these past days and I think I'll have to try the DT 880 Edition/250 Ohm. I would have preferred to have them in...

    The Beyerdynamic DT880 Discussion thread

Hi there, currently looking for open-back headphones for movie watching & gaming using a SBX G6 I think I'll order the DT 880/250 Ohm Edition. Can you folks confirm that the Black Edition has a different sound signature? A shame if that's the case and I'll have to go with the normal grey one...

More comfortable/lighter open-back alternatives for the Philips Fidelio X2HR

Well, that would't pose any problems considering that I'm from Germany. Very interesting, although the price is a bit more than I would like to spend, but if it's worth it, who knows.... I did some googling and it looks like compared to the DT 990 they "fixed" the mids, though the Amiron still...

More comfortable/lighter open-back alternatives for the Philips Fidelio X2HR

I think the more subdued bass of the 712 doesn't bother me too much, the mids are more important, especially for a lot of the anime stuff that I like to watch.

More comfortable/lighter open-back alternatives for the Philips Fidelio X2HR

Thanks for the suggestions, but electrostatic headphones? That design sure is something. Not sure whether those are a good choice as first "proper" home headphones. I don't know anything about those kinds of headphones and the mfg and they don't seem to be easily available at the usual online...

More comfortable/lighter open-back alternatives for the Philips Fidelio X2HR

After trying the AKG 712 my first impression is that the headband is not putting as much pressure on my head as the X2, so the 712 are more comfortable than the X2, but I think I'm just not a fan of headphones with self adjusting headbands in general as even the slightest pressure feels...

More comfortable/lighter open-back alternatives for the Philips Fidelio X2HR

Hi there, I'm looking for a pair of open-back headphones under 400$, primarily movie watching and a bit of gaming, and currently have for testing the Philips Fidelio X2HR and the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition, using a SBX G6. My problem is that while I prefer the, what feels to me, clearer...

    Sony MDR-1000X

Bought the 1000X when I saw them for a good price (impulse buy), but still have to remove the shrinkwrap. Was looking for a nicer looking and foldable replacement for my (bass heavy) Plantronics Backbeats Pro. I read a amazon review that complained about the LED lights blinking when the Sony...

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

I am not convinced that these are already the new one's. Is there nothing like a date of manufacture somewhere on the cans or the box?

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

@WDitters: Thanks for the update. After returning the faulty one's, I might take another look at the fixed revision once it's available.

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

All of us are surprised. How could this design failure go through Sennheiser's quality control? Did they simply test the wired mode? :D

    Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!

Probably for the best to go for the refund instead of waiting for a fixed revision/replacement that might never come. We simply don't know what Sennheiser will do. If it does happen in August as rumors have been saying for a couple of months now, then just buy again.
