Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King
Really got sick of the mid-treble/upper-treble on these. Too weird for my tastes. Selling them in the FS section instead. I have HD555s now, which I strongly prefer, and HD280's in the mail. I do need to get another pair of HD238's though, and am considering something from the...- xx0xx

Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King
Hrm. It's with no EQ, through an X-Fi Go Pro! USB sound card. It's not even so much that it is very harsh or fatiguing, really, it's more grain or just plain weirdness, and it's only a certain part of the treble frequencies. I guess it sounds more like the "mid-treble", or the center part...- xx0xx

Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King
Maybe so. Probably wishful thinking, but I know for my Meelectronics HT-21s and HD238s both the treble smoothed out over time. Both had rather piercing treble out of the box.- xx0xx

Koss Pro DJ 100 - The Budget King
I really need to give these a good burn-in to see if the treble backs off a bit. It's still a little weird for certain cymbal sounds. That is the only qualm I have at all with these headphones. The bass/mids/soundstage and treble during softer music (acoustic guitars) are fantastic. Just need...- xx0xx

Skullcandy
I have seen reviews of SK headphones improving lately and that with some models they're finally stepping it up some. I still think overall that they, like many other "stylish" brands have terrible/weird/childish designs and focus more on that than on sound quality. The only one I've tried...- xx0xx

please please please reply
In my experience the HD238 is relatively light on bass. It is present, but it is very tight/balanced. If music has any low bass drops or any booming/thick bass, the HD238s won't really do it justice. I believe it's plenty for most music but I don't listen to much hip-hop.- xx0xx

New here, interested in new headphones and stuff.
It's less about the fact that Bose/Beats headphones are terrible, and more about the fact that they are terrible for the price being asked. I've had a large quantity of Bose headphones and I think especially the AE1 (Around-Ear) sounded quite good and fun (although colored and V-shaped...- xx0xx

Quote: If it is actually stiff/dry stuff like glue, that's the only thing that would worry me. Though, if it's soft and could just be excess grease for the screw, then it should be fine and over time will loosen up, I'm sure, could just be a slight anomaly that happened during...- xx0xx

Razer Electra.
Hrm it doesn't seem to bother me. It had some clamping force when I first got it but that has eased over time and I find it comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time.- xx0xx

Pink noise works wonders for burning-in!
I always thought burning-in was BS... until my Sennheiser HD238 and Meelec HT-21 headphones. The Senns sound wildly different (and better) now than they did out of the box. Better bass, crisper/clearer highs, better separation... I was very surprised at how different they sound now.- xx0xx

Razer Electra.
I personally love the AKG GHS1 headset. Decent isolation, not sure about leakage or some of the other things you require. Great mic, good sound for games or music.- xx0xx
